It looks like Irene is not turning to the NE as predicted. Unless it starts turning soon it could come right of the Chesapeake Bay. Something like this happened with Ernesto in 2006. Predicted to go 40 miles off shore and came up the Bay instead.
I remember Ernesto. He ruined our camping vacation in northern PA.
And my sister and brother-in-law live on the Severin river up from the Chesapeake Bay. They lost their home with Isabel and re-built. Really depends on what the storm surge is with the tides. So glad they left for higher ground.
