Hurricane Hugo took out my sewer. I shocked a Northern transplant who just moved here by telling him a hurricane can disrupt natural gas supplies to a house. Millions of branches penetrating the ground are bound to hit something.

Irene has been one strange storm for me. About six hours before the storm, I had several fallen large tree branches in my yard. Cleared them out. Storm came through and caused minor yard debris. Has one of the most beautiful evenings in a long while just as eye was parallel to us. Rain bands that almost always hit us decided to go elsewhere. Woke up this AM and the yard looked OK. Storm had been gone hours. Two hours later my yard had several large branches in it again.
