I will never poopoo sustained 60 MPH. It can do damage, catastrophic damage, no, unless your house isn’t built to code. It will destroy your landscaping, etc. BUT 60 MPH when you live on the water is FAR worse than 60 MPH inland. 60 sustained mostly makes a lot of noise, breaks weakened trees and limbs, uproots shallow rooted trees, and sounds scary as hell.

You are basically correct.

However, inland is often covered with rivers - and yes, there is alot of flooding in many places. Oops, forgot to mention - once again, it’s not JUST wind. It’s rain, too.

As for “breaks trees” - exactly - ruining power, destroying houses and cars, and killing people.

This is not a cakewalk.
