Parts of Obama jobs package coming into focus (Spend more money we don't have)

President Barack Obama is finalizing a jobs package that could include a program to refurbish school buildings nationwide and tax breaks to encourage firms to hire workers.

The package, to be unveiled in early September, is Obama's chance to convince skeptical voters he can bring down the 9.1 percent unemployment rate and steer the United States away from another recession - ahead of next year's election.

But economists and advisers familiar with his strategy say Obama will argue next month that the financial crisis was worse than anyone thought at the time and say more stimulus is needed to make any real dent in the unemployment rate.

The details are still being discussed during the president's annual vacation in Martha's Vineyard, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said.

But the broad contours of the jobs package are quickly coming into focus.

The president is widely expected to repeat his calls for an extension of a payroll tax cut, push for patent reform and bilateral free trade deals, and suggest an infrastructure bank to upgrade the country's roads, airports and other facilities.

Hire more federal government workers “of color.” After all, the taxpayers will be paying to buy those votes for him in next year’s election.

I believe that whatever Obama comes up with will involve the Government laying out the money for it.

This will only increase the debt and not be a long term solution for the problem.

What we need is private companies and investers hiring again.
The repeal of Obama care and the repeal of useless EO’s and regulations by the EPA and other agencies will do that.

But that won’t happen with this guy, he isn’t smart enough to figure out the problem, or else he doesn’t care.

Focus?

As in 0bama is going to foc-all-of-us?

His MAJOR speech on jobs and the economy is going to be, "We just didn't know how bad it was and we need to spend more?"

How flipping brain dead can he be?

All spending bills must originate in the U.S. House. The last time I looked, the R’s (not the D’s) control the U.S. House. Will he be able to get a lavish spending bill out of the House and into the Senate?

That is the communist plan of action.

Photobucket

It was the Communist plan in 1934. It is 0bama’s Communist plan today.

The president is widely expected to repeat his calls for an extension of a payroll tax cut

It's NOT a tax cut. It's a tax holiday borrowing from Social Security. Those dollars must be replaced with general tax revenues under law. It's also all employee-side, not lowering the cost of hiring for employers at all.

push for patent reform

Switching from first-to-invent, as we've always had, to first-to-file harms entrepreneurs and small businesses.

bilateral free trade deals

Negotiated during the Bush years and having languished in Reid's do-nothing-Senate.

an infrastructure bank to upgrade the country's roads, airports and other facilities.

A Kerry boondoggle. Where's the money going to come from? What does this offer other than yet another bureaucracy with ample opportunities for waste, fraud, abuse and control? No doubt there will be a mechanism for money to be "borrowed" to spend elsewhere just like happens at the state level or with the trust funds.

The terms "jobs package" and "jobs bill" are misnomers.

That’s been the rumor all along that all spendinghas to go through Congress, but Obama gives a few Billion here and another Few Billion there, and it seems unstoppable the amounts he is spending.

He makes his own laws so I don’t guess it is inconceivable that he spends what he likes. No one appears to be stopping him.
