Which is why, put frankly, that even more hardworking and industrious people are going to be leaving this country. I cannot believe that the US has degenerated into this, I really can’t. It was so perfect, now it’s utterly ruined. Times like this, I realize just why so many businesses are running like mad out of this country and into places like China. The stupid governemnt in this country is quite frankly hypocritical; people rant and rave about how corrupt Eastern governments are, but these days they aren’t sabotaging their small businesses and paying for their underclass to breed like rabbits.

barr expired august 2 - nbaa is fighting it in court - the judge (as was expected) denied an injunction - congress mandated this in the faa authorization bill that long ago expired - and it is in the new authorization bill IF it ever gets through the senate and ghetto in the whitehouse - it was not in the temporary authorizing bill

i think its just hate by the dempcrapz - we are not seeing much on the eu cap and trade fight - i think the democrapz want to use that to implement cap and trade for flights here - the eu version says IF another country has a cap and trade program that the eu deems acceptable, we won't have to pay the tax to the eu, but to our own cap and trade program

also, the fcc is playing something with the bandwidth waivers - giving lightsquared a waiver when it has been proven that bringing up that network will render the gps system useless - even the path taken by the waiver smells of cronyism

as for barr, i recall when some overpaid thug basketball ‘star’ was debating where he would sign - whole production made of it and espn had an unveiling show scheduled - those that checked flightaware spoiled the grand surprise

Sure, but you're going to be in a lot of trouble when you cross the international boundary - you may even get a armed escort.

You don't have to talk to anyone as long as you're not in controlled airspace that requires communication with ATC. It's not a good idea though. We pilots almost always announce our intentions at small airports and in certain airspace like sailplane and parachuting areas.

Entry into international airspace without pre-approaval nowadays is a BIG no, no...

Negative. Only IFR, TFR or ADIZ, Special VFR or Military.

Most of American airspace is uncontolled up to 18,000 feet. You need an IFR flight plan after that. In mountanous terrain, you can exceed 18,000' as long as you're within a certain above ground level (AGL) altitude.

Other controlled areas are around airports. Here you have to know what class airspace you're dealing with. Some areas of the country also have flight corridors, restricted airspace and more.

If you're interested, there is a lot of information available online. Google Airspace Classes and Airspace Charts and don't forget Youtube.

Yup, flight plans are not required but they are recommended for the passenger safety.

If you do not close your plan within a time frame, they start looking for you. So this will impact flight safety because more pilots will not bother to file a flight plan.

The Obama administration does not have the authority to compel you to file a plan. That would require Congress to pass a law.

I was happy to see the FAA add that classification. It's pretty much what saved aviation for regular guys.

Check out the EAA and the homebuilts flying nowadays. They're pretty efficient and many have a good safety record. I have a feeling that GA is going to play a much larger roll in America's near future.

This is exactly how government tyranny develops.

Once upon a time you had a “right” to drive a car on public roads. The car was your private property. The roads were public property funded via governments using public tax dollars taken from your private money.

Traveling in your private property over roads you funded was a “right”. This is a fact.

Then the government started to spew the lie that driving is nothing more than a privelege, because you are driving on public roadways and the public’s interest supercedes your “right”. Kids were brainwashed to believe this, and now most adults I talk with have no clue that driving is a right, and they truly believe it is nothing more than a privelege, since we sigh that right away in the licensing process.

You can’t sign a right awayi. You still have a right to drive your car on the highway — absent your losing that right by committing a crime like driving drunk — but since only a tiny sliver of adults recognize that driving is still a right, those of us who do are considered crazy and wrong.

Now they are expanding this to aircraft. The right to fly is going to become a privelege.

And soon, the right to speak, the right to worship, the right to keep arms, and the right to assemble, and the right to be secure in your person from unreasonable searches and seizures.

Like Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same...”

Well, it isn’t being handed on. The communists who control teh schools and the media and Hollywood, the communists who have done all they can to destroy the church, and the community, and the precious nuclear family right down to promoting homosexual marriage — they’ve done their job too well to insure that freedom is not handed down to your children, and children’s children.

This ends badly. I just pray it is delayed so I don’t have to see it. I would pray that it is reversed and freedom is completely restored, but I know better. Freedom began to diminish in this nation right from the Whiskey Rebellion and possibly earlier. Freedom takes a one way path to tyranny. It is just a question of how fast it succumbs.

Right now, we are racing toward it. I do pray that the wishy-washy middle class moderates wake up and slow the rate of bondage we are experiencing. I pray for that. For reversal, I dont’ even bother as it is pointless.
