I always suspected something was going on with cat-people...
Being one of the people in the world that has like zero uses for cats, you know what happens if I visit people with cats.
Not two minutes go by before one of them things are trying to ferret it’s way on to my lap...

Cats are apparently made nervous by strangers who make a fuss over them and are overly friendly. So they gravitate toward the strangers who are trying to ignore them.
It's either that, or the little monsters are doing it deliberately to mess with your mind. Either way, pretend you like the host's cats next time and they'll probably avoid you like the plague.
