A congressman from Ohio had cops grab the cameras of constituents during a town hall meeting. Steve Chabot, a Republican, had cell phones and cameras confiscated in order to prevent an embarrassing Youtube video from making the rounds, according to Carlos Miller, who runs a blog documenting efforts by the state to stifle the First Amendment rights of photographers. Police said the cameras were taken to protect the constituents. A local television station, however, was allowed to videotape the meeting and the brazen move by Chabot and the cops.

yup, I’ve been on this board for years, but I’m trolling because I believe cops shouldn’t make up rules and go after citizens at the behest of a 16 yr congressman...
You need to be above whether there’s a R or D after the name if something is wrong.

If you are going to judge a candidate's record of 16 years on one vote then you need to stay in your mommy's basement and don't come out till Christmas. If you don't know why he voted that way then you are just sucking snot and calling it ice cream.

RE :"
It was a huge UNION GOON Set Up. YES, It looks like a liberal coordinated effort to do this and then show them on MSNBC as organic, This is the first I have seen it mentioned here. They first started doing it over the Ryan plan. The author made it sound like it was to stop conservatives from protesting the Republican which is not what it was.

He set himself up. It’s incredibly stupid to do something like this. If he can’t answer questions without giving his opponents some sort of political bonanza, he should just resign.
I’ve been to several of Paul Ryan’s town hall meetings and there are plenty of political types taping the entire thing to find stuff to use in campaigns. It comes with the territory.
Gov. Scott Walker in Wisconsin is also tailed by Think Progress bloggers.

Does it also record audio? To me, I had rather have audio than video if given the choice of one or the other.

Regardless who was at the meeting, they don’t check their rights at the door.

he will not have or need a tea party challenge because he is a reliable conservative. BS. No person who would countenance this is any kind of conservative.

By “setup” I mean the meeting was astroturfed.
His staff made a mistake taking the cameras.
I suggest, since this astroturfing is a big part of the Dems’ campaign this tear, that politicians send personal invites to their constituents to attend these meetings.
And the invites (which include name of the constituent) be required to be presented at admission.
