Cable network gives Obama ally his own show for election year
MSNBC is looking to please its friends at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The No. 3 cable-news network announced Tuesday that it would give rabble-rouser Al Sharpton the 6 p.m. show, PoliticsNation. That time slot opened in July when former host Cenk Uygur stormed out over being told by MSNBC President Phil Griffin that people in Washington were concerned with his tone. As Mr. Uygur told CNNs Howard Kurtz, Theyre concerned that were too aggressive against Democrats.
Mr. Griffin doesnt have to worry about receiving complaints regarding a known Obama administration ally. Mr. Sharpton has been invited to hang out in the Oval Office and be present for a bill signing. In April, President Obama even flew to New York to speak at a fundraiser for Mr. Sharptons National Action Network. Mr. Uygur cited a 60 Minutes interview in which Mr. Sharpton confirmed that he will never speak ill of the president, even on issues important to blacks. The guy who was criticizing the president is out - even though he had really good ratings - and the guy who has decided not to criticize the president about anything is in. Thats interesting, Mr. Uygur said.
This is only the latest example of a Democratic political hack being given the role supposedly reserved for serious journalists...

“Has anyone noticed that no one bothers to call this fat-ass racist piece of crap Reverend anymore?”
Why bother? Nobody complained about the separation of church & state when this joke, or the previous King of All Blacks (”Reverend” Jesse Jackson) ran in the Democratic primaries for president.
The choice of mumbles Sharpton, the black racist is great news. Should put the nail in their ratings coffin.
[Up until now, MSNBC has been exclusively angry white men.
Ed Schultz
Chris Matthews
Rachel Maddow
Lawrence O’Donnell
OK, the last one might not be a man. Not completely sure.]
Now that is downright funny. But talk about scary, think about the fact Ed Schultz may be the most sane one of the bunch (including Sharpton).
Since nobody’s stated the obvious, I guess I’ll chime in. He won’t show up 4 out of the 5 days a week so they’ll be forced to let him go. The freaking idiot has never had a job so why start now?
Sharpton is a race racketeer, a black sopremacist gasbag..
NAACP really means NAACCCP..
A mad cow then..
Amen. So getting him this gig at MSNBC just shows how the Obama Administration wants to work the campaign next year. IMHO, the race strategy will backfire on them.

LOL!!!
I'm pretty sure I heard the 6pm EST hour.

What time slot are they blowing on him?
Heck, if I were stupid enough/desparate enough to advertise on MSNBC, that could be a postive. It might attract 3 or 4 more viewers to that hour (adding 50% to the current audience).

Do the advertisers know they will be sponsoring an inflammatory racist who has been at least partially responsible for the deaths of a number of people, including minorities?
Actually, reaching out to MSNBC audience might be a good move for certain advertisers. I recently saw the ad for $penditol on MSNBC during The Morning Joe show.
Well done conservative satire migth play well on there, and the rates can't be too high considering their share and ratings.
Not a bad idea. Driving what remaining viewers they have to,
hopefully, their affiliates for the local news.

LOL!! A SAD DAY INDEED, SAD. ( fake solemnity tag on)
Hey “Kearny, good to see you! Hows things? You’re right, no one did complain about that, I never noticed. When Sharpton ran as a Democrat I said to my liberal younger brother” Gee, isn’t nice when a party gets the candidate it deserves?’’ Little bro’ didn’t like that. “Separation of church and state’’ What bs! If the government were serious about that it would stay open on Christmas.
How have you been? I think the closer you are to the fire, the less people pretend you can reason with the permanent underclass; if the people we deal with spent one hour in the Upper West Side (with the appropriate costs) they would open extermination camps for the creatures that arose from the tunnels.
Been good, living and working hard just trying to keep body and soul together in the Age of Obama.
That good to hear; hope you’re doing OK in the storm. We still have power, though some trees are down.
Boomlakalaka!
