Yes, it is sad news considering the company always had his signature all over it in the form of his creative ideas, hard work and diligence from the very beginning.

Like him or not, you can’t deny that Steve Jobs is a visionary - a type we don’t see much of anymore - and he’s made a significant impact on our world. Prayers going out to a giant of a man.

I am typing this from my iPhone right now. He has done so much for the company and I hope his health improves so he can come back, although it doesn’t look good.

Jobs has made a huge impact and will be missed.
Will Woz ever come back?
I am not sure what he has been up to lately.

Pancreatic cancer is the worst. My prayers are extended for Steve Jobs and his family. Here's a very short excerpt of some newly added paragraphs from Reuters:
" ...Apple shares were suspended from trade before the announcement. They had gained 0.7 percent to close at $376.18.
The pancreatic cancer survivor and industry icon, who has been on medical leave for an undisclosed condition since January 17, will be replaced by COO and longtime heir apparent Tim Cook..."
