I just found out today, that my company will now charge extra for having my spouse on my health plan, because she is eligible for coverage at her company. And the only plans they’ll offer are the high-deductible ones. I can definitely see where it’s going, I expect by 2014, it will be all gone.

We had Kaiser Permanente coverage in San Diego through Dec 2000. When we moved to Idaho, I had to go with the company self-insurance using an Aetna PPO. Medical service providers are in short supply in eastern Idaho. It's going to get more difficult as this asinine Obamacare wipes out private insurance offerings.

BTW, my spouse and kids ALWAYS cost extra on my plan. We have always had an employee only, employee + spouse and employee + spouse + kids plans. My wife wants me to bump the Flex Spend account from $50/paycheck ($1200/annual) to $100/paycheck to cover the larger deductibles and poorer prescription benefits.
