Cops Fear Violence Against Flash Mobs (as liberals do too)

UPPER DARBY, Pa. - As police in Upper Darby, Pa., search for more young people involved in last week's flash mob, more adults are thinking about arming themselves with guns.

People are talking about how afraid they are of being caught in the path one of these flash mobs while they're out minding their own business, and they want to be ready.

Law enforcement officials say it's a nightmare in the making because ordinary, private citizens are getting gun permits.

"We have people now that are fearful and carrying guns because of children. How sad is that?" Upper Darby police Captain George Rhoades said.

He said it's all legal.

"It's all self-defense," Rhoades said.

He says about 10 to 20 applications are processed every week in Upper Darby.

Rhoades says with that many people "carrying" and the violent actions of these flash mobs, the worst is bound to happen.

"Now we have this mentality, 'I'm not going to retreat. I'm not going to call 9-1-1. I'm going to be a vigilante and take care of the problem myself,'" he said.

That means flash mob children could be dead, and the would-be victims may have the right, but Rhoades is appealing to everybody to think twice.

The police think it is not longer their responsibility to protect the citizens, just show up and make some reports, lecture the citizens not to protect themselves, and to count the bodies. I carry and will perform the protection myself and then the police can show up and make some reports, lecture the bystanders about not participating in crime and count the bodies.

You people are looking for answers in all the wrong places. The problem is a complete failure of liberalism and liberal policies, moral relativity and forced egalitarianism.

Riots, flash mobs and gang violence all have their roots in moral relativity, which is nothing more than moral anarchy. Police can do little to prevent the violence, only clean up after the fact.

This is the first time in history where man has tried to build a society without GOD and the result is a disaster. Man has not just lost his moral compass, we have rejected.

Man, alone, is incapable of being the arbiter of good and evil. All man can do is decide legal and illegal. An ordered society requires more than that.

Vigilante justice is just another form of moral relativity (unless you are protecting yourself or others).

If Jamal comes across town and picks your house to burglarize and you defend yourself, chances are his people are going to say, well that’s the breaks. Even they can understand the sanctity of your castle. They will sue you for sure, so there is that form of retaliation. But you aren’t in close proximity to their territory so immediate retaliation is not going to be as commonplace as if your were in their sphere of influence. I wouldn’t expect to see an armed party walking down your street demanding justice, but it did happened with the Black Pathers in Texas after that guy shot the two burglars so it isn’t out of the realm of possibility. They did get run off, but you had better believe that EVERY ONE of them was carrying a firearm or had one a car nearby. They wouldn’t be so bold if they didn’t.

Now, a flashmob incident, you are probably not in your familiar surroundings, you are accosted by this mob and you defend yourself. You have now become a target for retaliation, and if you don’t pop smoke, and very quickly, they will retaliate in the same fashion as any other rival gang. The same way they organized the flashmob, they can organize a retaliation. They do it in the hood, all the time. Nearly all the shootings you read about are over minor slights, and the retaliation for the original shooting. It goes on for years, sometimes generationally. It’s a personal call, either hightail it for the nearest police station to report it, or wait for officers to arrive, during which time, you might be dealing with that kid who had the pistol in his backpack firing at you. Or his big cuz bringing the rifle.

You haven’t seen any stories about someone defending themselves successfully against a mob attack. When that day happens, I am certain there will be retaliation. I am just trying to get people to understand this. If they have the immediate opportunity, they will retaliate.

When the government blocks texting "to preserve the peace" and "protect us", how long will it be before that is selectively applied to those that dissent politically?

We have highly placed elected officials now that are calling for restrictions of conservative discourse on the internet and the radio. They are already suppressing conservative speech in schools and such.

The proper method for dealing with law breakers is not to restrict the freedoms of the law abiding citizens. Look how that has worked for firearms.
