in metro DC and it shook the house pretty good, the phones are out and barely have cell service. The stuff fell off the walls and they just cleared the pentagon.
felt here in Raleigh, NC, everyone in office stood up....
Felt my apartment building shaking here in New York City.
Reuters says it has been updated to an 6.0 earthquake and Megyn Kelly reported it happened in Mineral, VA
Felt pretty dern big in Delaware!
SouthWestern PA, we felt a quick snap out of it..My son, a bit further north heard “rumbling” for a short spell, then business as usual.
I wonder how long it’s going to take the media to notice there’s a nuclear power plant and a huge lake and dam only 10 miles away from the revised USGS epicenter?
I used to live in Orange, VA which is just north of Mineral. This region is not an earthquake zone and this isn’t something that most people there would know how to deal with. This has the potential to be bad.
EXTREMELY SHALLOW, less than 1km, or around a 1/2 mile deep.
And look at this rather unusual cluster of earthquakes in Colorado in the last few days:

Yep, welcome to our world, this is the norm here in SoCal..but thankfully we haven’t had one of these big ones in a while, knock on wood
Felt in so jersey about 15 mi SE of philly
LOL. Scott Pelley of CBS News just asssured the viewers it was a “mild earthquake”.
I think 6.2 qualifies as a bit more than mild.
Reporter Chip Reid at the Pentagon describes ten seconds of violent shaking.
I’m in Columbia, Md. I thought my house was going to collapse. Wife, daughter and I ran out into the yard and saw trees and light poles swaying. Very scary. My first earthquake. The MidAtlantic region just doesn’t get earthquakes.
Anyone said “earthquakes in divers places” yet?
Look up, for your redemption is nigh.
I’m in Ohio next to WV. I totally missed it. I think you are all pulling my leg.
Just outside Boston MA,on the third floor, and i felt it here as a gentle rocking. No one was doing laundry, which makes this 110+ dwelling shake a bit, and this was a slower rocking.
But we need some shaking up in this country. Beginning in the seat of power.
“See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: 25 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. 26 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 27 “ (Hebrews 12:25-27)
Lived out there for 20 yrs myself. This was a 1.5 to 1.8 at best in my area. Just north of Philly.
It’s almost funny watching these people panic as they are.
Upgraded to 6.0 in the virginia area now.
a "possible" earthquake? Is this where we are with political correctness?
Dumfries, VA.
OK, checked off the “Experienced an earthquake” box. Don’t need to do that again - Florida native.
