SarahPAC released the following statement:
Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.
PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.
Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:
Here she is, in her own words:
Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?
Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but
Q: So by next month?
Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.
A few moments later, there was this exchange:
Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?
Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.
Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?
Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.
Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?
Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.
You’re the best, dear ((( el_texicano )))
Governor Palin has the most awesome, loyal supporters!
We’ve got her back and we’re rarin’ to go!!!
The RNC is flat broke, less than $One Million in cash, and more than $24 Million in debt. A major party should have more than $One Billion in cash at this point in an election cycle. It is costing the RNC sixty cents for every dollar they are raising, and hardly anyone is donating to the RNC. Bad, bad news for the establishment. Grassroots people are not giving up the money for the machine.
All the establishment flavor-of-the-week candidates are all competing for a nonexistent supply of establishment cash.
The Sarah Palin machine is working, without any real expenditures), and all the money all the grassroots are sitting on is still sitting there, awaiting her announcement, whenever that will be.
Shelties are great fun!
Now *that’s* truly pathetic and very telling! They’re nothing without Sarah Palin and they haven’t treated her worth a damn.
When she announces and has her campaign website open for donations, she will make RINO Romney’s one day $10 Million haul look like chump change!
We have some awesome Shelties running flyball, including my favorite named Spirit. He was a breeder throw away because he had too much hassle white. He’s absolutely gorgeous.
I extend an invitation to all Sarah Palin fans living in perpetual anticipation - in constant angst - to get behind Rick Perry.
I will consider all the early declarers, and the later declarers. There is no logical reason for me to jump on anybody’s wagon now. I intent to watch the campaign, learn about the candidates, and pick the most conservative one to vote for when my states primary rolls around.
Now that there is funny!

Only a small handful (noisy handful, but still just a handful) of Americans, are going to fork over a pile of their dwindling savings to ANYONE who panders to foreign influence over the interests of American citizens.
I think and hope the RNC has finally stopped calling me.
When everyone was touting a Sarah announcement on the third, it really scared me because I thought, and I SAID she was being set up by the pundits and the press to try and set expectations so high for her supporters that she would almost have no choice but to declare which would throw her off her own timeline. It seems that Sarah’s crew is taking that scheme apart and throwing it in their faces and it’s a beautiful sight to see. G-d bless Sarah. If it made kewpie rove sputter in his cornflakes, all the better.
Sarah will run and she will win and I cannot even contemplate otherwise. There simply is no second best alternative.
As for rick perry, CW started putting up pro-perry threads a while ago and I read them with interest. I told her I would give him a fair shot but would do my own research. Not only do I dislike what I found, but I find rick perry a tad scary. When I brought up my concerns, I was met with a solid wall of nasty the likes of which I have not seen on FR before. The hard core perry supporters have excused a laundry list of disqualifications that for a fact they would never excuse in ANY other candidate. ANY.
I have seen CW’s *invitation* on several of the Palin threads now and have not said anything, but this is ridiculous.
As I said before, there are some things that can be excused and some things that can never be excused. When you do that, you have made a deal with the devil. And I ain’t going there because the devil WILL exact a heavy price and we will ALL pay. We are going through that now. I refuse to go through it again.
I love it! :)
Regrets. I must at this time decline, with thanks.
It is my considered opinion that the one thing that can save Obama is being allowed to run against George W. Bush. I know there are still Bush defenders here, but I don't share their views.
It is unfair to Perry that he will be painted as Bush III, but, to me it is an obvious fact that in a media-driven age will not be able to be overcome.
And, on top of that, Perry shows some dangerous signs of being a globalist. Globalism, if it is allowed to continue, will eventually destroy the American Republic, whatever its other alleged benefits may be. I am open to argument on this point (that Perry is NOT a globalist), but right now, it does not look good.
So, again, with regrets, I must decline your very kind invitation.

You know it. The thought of the political earthquake the Sarah money bomb will cause makes me just grin from ear to ear. It’s time for a RINO FREE AMERICA!
The parties are short on cash because previous donors see the light (finally) that blind handing over the cash based on the R/D is simply no longer acceptable.
Individual candidates still seem to get enough scraped up to get elected.
The avalanche of green following her jumping in will be telling.
Well said, Gargantua!
True enough. In fact, its a matter of some concern to me, because the deluge will likely be so intense it may stress the website. I hope they've got suitable bandwidth when that day comes. It's going to be one for the record books.
