'Scots men have been named the manliest in the world in a survey, with our English neighbours trailing badly in third place.
Voters were impressed by Scotland's rugged landscape and its status as the birthplace of Rob Roy and William Wallace, as well as modern-day macho men such as Sean Connery, Gordon Ramsay and Gerard Butler.
We topped the poll with 26 per cent of the vote, followed by Australia (16), England (15), Russia (14) and Finland (seven).'

Rangers and Celtic mainly draw their support from Irish immigrants. Real Scots don't root for them. Real Scots will root for Hearts or Hibernian.
That’s the best, another harp please.
I assume that is satire.
I AM a Rangers fan.

One tough SOB. The British sunk his ship in battle, and he still fought on, eventually taking THEIR ship.
Says a man with a very Scottish username...lol
“The most gorgeous creature ever to walk the earth”.
Here, here, and getting better all the time!
The former, yes.
The latter, pah, we built their country.
I take it back, with regards to Rangers, plus they signed some new American players.
So would any true Scotsman root for Celtic? I know Rangers is considered to be the “Unionist” club, so I could see they would have more Scottish support.
I wonder what place the French were in?
Plays a mean bass, too.
I’m from clan cuckoo...or was that cu clux?
I thought that Hibernian was the Irish descent team for Edinburgh?
True, but the Irish aspect has been played down, certainly more than for Celtic, even though Celtic has slowly been trying to move away from it as well.
The Scots-Irish came here in droves after 1700 (maybe slightly before) because Church of England was not too fond of Presbyterians-—though they were treated far better than Irish Catholics.
Celtic does have that faux-Irish identity, strangely I have known a couple of Army lads who follow Celtic.
Ironic given the sizeable section of Celtic fans who despise Britain, the British Army (’cos of NI) and are sympathetic to the IRA. Last year, a section of Celtic fans unveiled a banner attacking the wearing of poppies. As they did it a couple of days before Rememberence Sunday, the story went ‘down south’ and many English and Welsh people were appalled. No doubt Rangers gained a few new fans that day across the UK....
Then again, a friend of mine is a Celtic fan who raises money for Help For Heroes. But he is a minority. Celtic do have a pro-IRA, anti-British support.
Of course, the punchime is that 90-95% of that group are ‘plastic paddies’ as they are called, thats Glasgow/West of Scotland Celtic fans whose 19thC ancestors were Irish, but who have never been to Ireland, yet behave ‘more Irish than the Irish’. The actual Irish think they are a joke.
The french had to come in dead last. How many frenchmen can throw a telephone pole? Frog-eating, mime-loving wimps.
Do they still allow Rangers fans to sing “We Are The Billy Boys” at matches?
