Surprising to see a NYT writer countering the talking points of the rest of the liberal MSM and the country club Rs..
To attribute a state’s success to a politician is to acknowledge that he had done little. to attribute a state’s failure is to acknowledge that he has done too much.

of appreciation for enacting the Texas Dream Act.

Rick Perry, the Mosque, and his agreement with Muslims
Published in The Ismali
Austin, Texas At the invitation of Texas State Governor Rick Perry, Mawlana Hazar Imam traveled to Austin yesterday to sign an Agreement of Cooperation between the State of Texas and the Ismaili Imamat. During the visit, Hazar Imam and Governor Perry also held talks at the State Capitol on a range of issues of mutual interest. Describing the importance of the agreement, Governor Perry explained that traditional Western education speaks little of the influence of Muslim scientists, scholars, throughout history, and for that matter the cultural treasures that stand today in testament to their wisdom.
<><>DOING BUSINESS W/ THE CHINESE<><>
Perry focused on the Chinese companies ability to create jobs in Texas........while national security experts concluded that the global telecom giant poses a potential cyber-security risk to the US military and US businesses. Three times since 2008, a US government security panel has blocked Huawei from acquiring or partnering with US companies because of concerns that secrets could be leaked to Chinas government or its military.
<><>USE OF GOVERNMENT POWER<><>
Perry also facilitated the Trans-Texas Corridor by using the governmental power of eminent domain to take land from Texans and give it to foreigners. You can bet that PO'ed land-loving Texans. (NOTE The Trans-Texas Corridor is a NAFTA-style super-highway that would eventually unite the US with Canada and Mexico, threatening American currency and sovereignty).
In Perry’s case they don’t give him credit for the jobs gained but blame him that many of them are minimum wage.

It says below the article ( click on the link ) that Paul Krugman is OFF today.
RE: but blame him that many of them are minimum wage.
Is it better to be jobless than to make minimum wage ( which everyone knows is temporary)?
Here is a link comparing the Texas economic model to the California economic model.
Obama endorses the failed California model. Perry endorses the Texas model, which has worked in spite of federal policies which oppose it.
Truly, not much of a contest.

State Controlled Media: Obama creates 50,000+ McJobs, good; Perry creates mostly low-paying jobs, bad.
Off his meds, obviously. And not just today.
Perry is responsible for largely not getting in the way of Texas business. With that said he did sign a state income tax on businesses in the guise of a franchise tax. Perry is not a true conservative bur compared to Obama Perry $hits jobs, diamonds and gold bars......
I’m with Ann Coulter on this one. Since the dems have placed an ad asking if anyone has ever had sex with Perry can we finally get someone to ask about Obama’s cocaine dealer ... nearly 3 years into his presidency?
Seventeen things critics are saying about Rick Perry (and the truth)....http://peskytruth.wordpress.com/2011/07/19/rick-perrys-negatives/
This puts Perrys record, which is very positive, in perspective. It also talks about the relative strength of the Texas governorship.
You sure got a THING against Perry.
As a Texan, I was irate at the Trans Texas Corridor....but we stopped it at the pass. Perry listened and it seems he does listen.
Perry is a live and let live kind of guy. Even Kinky Friedman says he is a GOOD man. Kinky has Don Imus considering umping on the Perry bandwagon.
Lawyers hate Perry...that is a good sign (because of our Tort reform laws).
I wonder what real reason you hate Perry? I can sure find fault with the guy...but show me a candidate anywhere who doesn’t have faults.
Those of us in Texas know about Perry, including the warts. He does have some.
But we keep reelecting him, even when he runs against someone else that we like, Senator Hutchinson or Mayor White, for instance.
Perry is one shrewd politician. Seems like he often hits the right chord. And he is a ruthless administrator. Just ask any commissioner he has appointed. They do not dare oppose him.
Would depend on character and who is or isn't on unemployment.
I've heard of people being offered a lot better than minimum wage jobs but turned it down because they were on unemployment.
Hey boys and girls...it's OBozo we're trying to get rid of so the question should be;
How much the U.S.'s problems can be attributed to OBozo?
As a Texan...I really haven’t paid attention to his positives. I have noted his negatives and voted for Kinky when he ran. Perry has plenty of positives as I am discovering.
But...Perry sure beats the tar out of that RINO Romney and the ‘estaablishment’ wants Romney.
If there is a chance that Perry can run the country so it can have stats similar to Texas....I am going for the guy. If the nominee is Palin or Bachman...we lose.
We have to win.
Good Morning my fellow freepers. I think that it's time to start tweeking the media. When we post articles to and attribute the source ie The New York Times, what do you think of attributing as follows? The New York Times Edition of Der Speigle, Los Angeles Times Edition of Der Speigle, ect.... Sometimes I wonder if the “journalists” in the state run media can see sunlight when Obama opens his mouth. Just a thought.
