Surprising to see a NYT writer countering the talking points of the rest of the liberal MSM and the country club Rs..
To attribute a state’s success to a politician is to acknowledge that he had done little. to attribute a state’s failure is to acknowledge that he has done too much.
Here is a link comparing the Texas economic model to the California economic model.
Obama endorses the failed California model. Perry endorses the Texas model, which has worked in spite of federal policies which oppose it.
Truly, not much of a contest.

Perry is responsible for largely not getting in the way of Texas business. With that said he did sign a state income tax on businesses in the guise of a franchise tax. Perry is not a true conservative bur compared to Obama Perry $hits jobs, diamonds and gold bars......
I’m with Ann Coulter on this one. Since the dems have placed an ad asking if anyone has ever had sex with Perry can we finally get someone to ask about Obama’s cocaine dealer ... nearly 3 years into his presidency?
Seventeen things critics are saying about Rick Perry (and the truth)....http://peskytruth.wordpress.com/2011/07/19/rick-perrys-negatives/
This puts Perrys record, which is very positive, in perspective. It also talks about the relative strength of the Texas governorship.
Hey boys and girls...it's OBozo we're trying to get rid of so the question should be;
How much the U.S.'s problems can be attributed to OBozo?
Good Morning my fellow freepers. I think that it's time to start tweeking the media. When we post articles to and attribute the source ie The New York Times, what do you think of attributing as follows? The New York Times Edition of Der Speigle, Los Angeles Times Edition of Der Speigle, ect.... Sometimes I wonder if the “journalists” in the state run media can see sunlight when Obama opens his mouth. Just a thought.
“The question is whether Perry himself deserves any of the credit. Here his critics become much more persuasive. When Perry became governor, taxes were already low, regulations were light, and test scores were on their way up. He didnt create the zoning rules that keep Texas real estate affordable, or the strict lending requirements that minimized the states housing bubble. Over all, the Texas model looks like something he inherited rather than a system he built.”
So the NY Times is saying that credit for the Texas economy belongs to the Governor from whom Perry inherited it....which would be Governor George W. Bush. Delicious, isn't it.
President Downgrade is not responsible for the disastrous US economy because he inherited it from Bush. Perry is not responsible for the good Texas economy because he inherited it from Bush.
Way to be consistent NY Times. And you wonder why people are canceling their subscriptions?
