If you really knew history, then you would know he isn't a nut job. That's the whole point of history. If you can't see what's coming, you are blind.

Isn't it possible that a man can really believe what he says and says what he means? It doesn't have to be for money, fame or power. It can be just to get his ideas out there like the prophets of old. If someone is shouting "FIRE" while beating on your door, do you lay there in bed trying to figure out his "angle" or motive? Maybe your house is really on fire and you don't know it.

I don't think Mormons are Christians, but knowing what they believe, they are required to believe the Bible along with their book. There is no contradiction for them to believe Israel is a special place to God. Their treatment of Christ is what separates them from Christianity. A Muslim would tell you Jerusalem was a special place also. I'm more aligned with Beck than not and can't see why people fight him so much.

Just as an aside,...If the presidential race comes down to Romney and Obama, will you vote for Obama because Romney is a Mormon? Beck, being Mormon, doesn't make him wrong on every issue. I listened every day while he was on Fox and never, not once that I can remember, heard anything I disagreed with. I was aware that he may be using his spot to recruit Mormon converts, but the only "Mormonism" I ever heard was the stocking of supplies for bad times. I'm as Christian as it comes and I don't disagree with that. If he would have started speaking on Holy underwear and my own planet with many wives, I would have flipped the channel.

I voted for Romney in the 08 primaries. BTW, I'm a Evangelical Christian.

This election cycle I will vote for anyone in the general that doesn't have horns and a pitchfork that has an R beside their name.

IMO Glenn is still a certified nut-job who is confusing a lot of people with his RELIGOUS speak, and is therefore a dangerous entity.

I think that most of the Mormons I have known are Christian. When I have asked them "whence cometh your salvation" they've explained it in terms very amicable to the Apostle's Creed.

What I also think is that they are Christians in serious error, with all the Book of Mormon stuff. I think the same thing of many Catholics who elevate Jesus' mother and the "saints" to divine status. The first three commandments should be very clear on that subject.

While this is serious error, it does not rise to what I would call "fatal error."

I've never heard Beck talk about his beliefs that would make me think he is not a Christian.

And I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he and his wife picked Mormonism because Beck is an alcoholic, and wouldn't have any booze around to tempt him.

they are required to believe the Bible along with their book.

_____________________________________________

No they are not

Mormons are required to say the Bible is wrong and the only book "right" is the book of mormon...

"the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book." (Joseph Smith, Founder of Mormonism, History of the Church, vol. 4, page 461)

If they believed the Bible they wouldnt be mormons

They would be Christians...
