The way the board was swept quickly and cleanly is vintage SA royal house action. I would imagine the CI A station chief briefed his royal counterpart on these findings and they were received with mild polite interest and then swoosh the chessboard was swept clear. The Saudis get trashed a lot here but I have found them to be deceptively ruthlessly competent when their core interests are involved. Rather like sleepy, torpid, crocodiles that smile mildly and then SNAP, the problem suddenly disappears.

Yep, the Saudi’s have been our “friends” for a long time. We need to take a step back sometimes. this is a long term relationship.
