Rep. Dennis Kucinich is headline speaker at Seattle's "Hempfest"

Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich is making yet another trip to the left coast over the weekend - this time to be a headline speaker at Seattle's "Hempfest," which advertises itself as "The World's Largest Protestival."

Kucinich is scheduled to address the event on Saturday afternoon, right after Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn. Other luminaries slated to address the three day gathering at Seattle's Myrtle Edwards Park include Wayward Bill of the United States Marijuana Party, representatives of "Moms for Marijuana" and "Gramma's for Ganja," as well as someone from High Times Magazine who goes by the name "Stinkbud."

According to an online publication called "The Weed Blog," a record crowd is expected. Last year's festival drew 150,000 people over two days.

Kucinich's congressional district in Ohio is in danger of elimination because of redistricting. He says he is weighing a run for office in Washington state, and has visited there frequently this year. While Ohio will lose two congressional seats next year because of slow population growth, Washington state is adding a seat.

On Friday, Kucinich confirmed he's made no decisions about where he'll run for office. He said he decided to address Hempfest because it's one of Seattle's largest community events, and he believes marijuana use should be decriminalized. He said his congressional campaign committee pays for trips he takes to Washington to appear before nonprofit groups.

Kucinich said he's scheduled to return to Cleveland on Aug. 28, where he'll attend a sculpture dedication at the Ukrainian cultural garden. He also plans to be a grand marshall at Cleveland's Labor Day parade, and attend the weekend's Polish festival at St. John Cantius, as well as the St. Elias and St. Rocco's church festivals.

You know what would really be sad? If by some miracle his district stays intact, and he runs for re-election and wins even though he abandoned his district.

Krazy Kucinich knows a lot of good flying saucer stories. He’s going to fit right in.

“Sarah Palin: Smoking Pot Is No Big Deal”

Since the FR software broke that story has been stuck on the page for over a year. Palin and Dennis may not be on the same page, but they are in the same chapter at least.

There. Fixed it.

I’ve observed drunks, and I’ve observed pot heads. I see no reason why one is treated differently from the other. Think of the tax money we would save if we were not policing low level pot selling and using. Maybe that is part of how Palin was able to keep her constituents happy with their oil rebates. How much of the Alaska budget was spent on pot enforcement? I read once that Point Barrow (I think it was) decided to outlaw alcohol in town and the crime rate dropped 70%. Then the civil libertarians got hold of the case and they went back to boozing.

I agree with Ron Paul that marijuana should be legalized. I am not sure I agree with him on the stronger drugs, but definitely on marijuana legalization.

Prolly why the forced ignore of Ron Paul by presstitutes even though he won Iowa.

Hearst (Newspaper & Forrest products Co.) got marijuana illegal so it wouldn't compete w/wood for paper.

It makes much better paper quickly & much cheaper & better for the land than anything else.

The seeds have perfect amino acid profile for human nutrition.

Palin stated her opinion that marijuana should be decriminalized, and I agree. Whether you toke or not, over half the cash for murdering Mex drug gangs comes from over the border pot trade, a weed that grows just fine and dandy in the U. S.

In addition talk to an emergency room nurse and ask her how many casualties her ER gets that are admitted due to alcohol, then how many are admitted due to abuse of marijuana. If you love prohibiting recreational
drugs, makes sense to start with the drug that kills more people yearly than died throughout the entirety of the VietNam war.

If you look in the “Popular Articles” section that has been frozen in place for the last year, it’s there near the story of how “Van der Sloot a Dead Man, Says Ex-Con”.

Not surprising, considering that there’s probably a high correlation between being stoned and voting for Kucinich.

Kookcinich would be running in South Seattle, slightly out side of the fashionable part of town. Boundaries haven’t been drawn yet, but the Dems decided in a poll they probably don’t want him. Too kooky even for Seattle.
