A McAdoo father and son will be detained until they can be sent to Alaska after the pair were arrested Thursday on charges of harassing former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's family and lawyers.
Craig Christy and his son, Shawn Christy, were placed under arrest at the FBI office in Allentown. U.S. Magistrate Judge Arnold Rapoport ruled Thursday that Craig Christy and his son, Shawn Christy, will be held and sent to the state where Mrs. Palin resides, a day after they were indicted by a federal grand jury in Alaska.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John Gallagher argued for their detention, saying, "There's a level of obsession here that elevates the conduct from merely creepy to truly threatening."

They not only harassed but the kid told Palin he was coming to Alaska then photographed the ticket and the receipt for the handgun he’d bought.Both father and son were served with protection order when they arrived in Alaska.The father then proceeded to phone the Palin’s attorney’s office threatening Palin’s life and that they both were going to rape her and her daughters.A very nutty crew he whole family is and if Mom believes what her son and husbands says she is in for a very rude awakening when this goes to trial.

The online comments almost blame Palin. She’s a meanie (my word, their sentiment) for going after these people. If she would just ignore them they would go away. I never thought the left could be more deranged about anyone like they were when it came to GWB but with Palin they really out do themselves.

Father or son [don’t remember which] wrote that if Sarah didn’t do something-or-other she would find Willow’s brains on the sidewalk. Read where they have had hundreds of threatening calls from this family.
Yes well they are just about to find out about all of the federal laws about stalking and threatening people are all about.Mom is not going to be happy when they both spend 10+ years in the federal pen.

Is that what the sentence is? I’d thought that running afoul of a restraining order could garner 1 year in prison. I was told it would be a misdemeanor charge, but I suspect that at the federal level things are different. I’ve been watching this ignoramus on Facebook. The Times hates Palin, I'm almost surprised they ran the article.
