Palin: President is tone deaf (Greta presses Sarah for her primary plans)
Fox News ^ | August 18, 2011 | Greta VanSusteren

Sarah talks about GOP race to the White House

At 16:38 into the interview Greta VanSusteren asks Sarah Palin about entering the race -- any closer, why going to Iowa??

Sarah Palin talks about her next appearance at an inaugural tea party event in Iowa Sept 3rd and how she plans to continue doing a lot of traveling.

Greta asks again, with some exasperation, saying this is "an awful tease" and you're driving the media mad, so would she please give a little hint (paraphrasing).

Sarah Palin said she's still contemplating whether to jump in or not and then told Greta, you don't need a title to make a difference or hold office to make a difference - I am proof of that as are millions of other Americans -- wants to explain to other Americans how we can all be apart of the solution - empower individuals, not wait for government to do it for us.

I’m curious. If Sarah Palin wasn’t so pretty, would her supporters post so many photos — be as devoted?

Ahhhhhhh. The real reason some women don't like Sarah Palin.

You got that right. Pretty soon, the 96% of the electorate that has paid no attention to this race will start to focus on 2012. Accomplished politicians understand that. Amateurs and those candidates with no name recognition don’t like it.

Too damn bad.

Every belief has its foundation. Like I said, this phase of the conversation will be moot shortly.

BTW, I’m a “Reagan baby,” sort of, I lived through his political rise, and I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about there, can’t square it with my own life and memory, especially the connection to Ron Paul. If you could offer me a factual basis for your theory, and perhaps a clarification as to what your theory actually postulates, I’d be open to hearing it.

One more thing. I have admired your tireless devotion and energy in pursuing your cause. My hope is that when this in-family debate finally succumbs to realities on the ground, you will show equal ardor in promoting the eventual GOP nominee, even if its only the hockey mom from Wasilla. Please know that when that time comes, we will welcome you with open arms.

Peace,

SR

"an awful tease"

I never considered my wife a tease. Not when we were dating and conducting ourselves appropriately, nor when we were planning a wedding but living apart, nor even just after the ceremony when we didn't immediately run to a hotel room. I knew exactly what would happen at the right time and that she was waiting for that right time. I'd put Sarah in the same category. The woman is going to Iowa next month for a speech, and she's acting like she's ready for the alter and for what comes after that. There's no teasing there, just no casual crossing of a certain line either. The former governor and future president is waiting for the proper time, and I suspect she will choose perfectly.

I did listen to the interview with Grata last evening, especially for what I could discern about Palin’s plans. What caught my attention was her statement, near the end, that (paraphrase) that an elected position is not the one and only way she can go. I would ask: Why even make that comment? 99.99999% of us are not going to run for elective office, so we already know that. So, I took it as a negative as far as expecting her to enter the race

Her one-doesn't-need-a-title comment that she keeps repeating, may be about her activities over the last two years since she resigned. She's been repeating it since she resigned. I don't think it necessarily implies that she isn't going to run. In fact she has made numerous statements that imply that she would run.

What was your question? Oh, yes, I remember. The point isn't just that she's pretty (in fact I was a supporter before McCain chose her, and before I knew what she looked like, hoping and praying that she would run in 2012 based on her record in Alaska), it's that she's the real deal.

No. LOL..

I’ve posted too many Sarah threads to be painted with that!

And I do like her.

Indeed you are curious.

Try this one.

If Rick Perry looked like Henry Waxman, would you be so devoted?

I’m judging Ron Paul supporters by the young people supporting him.

And thank you. I will support the nominee.

Sarah has always been a reformer, and a conservative. I don’t know WHAT Rick Perry’s thinking has been for 61 years. If I had to guess, I’d say that he is a slick opportunist. IMO, Sarah has a far superior record. I’m not willing to settle for half a loaf in Perry. Bob

“I think more people need to stop cowtowing to this kind of behavior and start asking her to make up her mind or stop wasting their time. “

That would be “kowtowing”, just FYI.

I, on the other hand, think more people should get used to the idea that Sarah Palin determines her own schedule. I’m not going to worry about her declaring whatsoever until the anniversary of Reagan’s ‘79 announcement date rolls by. That won’t happen until November 13...

Palin ‘12!!!

A Waxman conservative clone couldn’t win. But if he wrote a “Going Rogue” from a male perspective, I’d be enthusiastic about him. No, photos would not be posted often! LOL For me, it’s all about one’s love of freedom and the Constitutional principles. Bob

Like it or not, charisma is of tremendous importance in a politician. Certainly Sarah's personal appeal matters, but it's the total package of appearance, patriotism, intelligence, charm, ideals, leadership and integrity that makes the real difference.

She outshines every other candidate in the field (most certainly including 0) by a huge margin.

Her good looks and perfect physique are NOT a plus with many women, and men don’t vote for good looks as often as women. Bob

So...why bring up looks then? Are you accusing male Freepers who support Sarah of thinking with their johnsons? According to some, your boy Rick is a stud. Should we assume all women who support Rick are only doing so because of his looks?

Trust me, I’m well aware of how catty women can be. I posted a couple months ago that, whether they want to admit it or not, women are constantly comparing themselves to other women. Success, good looks, and a great-looking husband would drive many of the insecure ones insane with jealousy because their lives suffer by comparison.

I agree. I can pick out things that make me think ‘she’s running!’ and the next sentence is ‘hmmm, maybe not’. And I’m pretty sure it’s on purpose. I want her to run, but I’m willing to sit back and wait. Watching the show is half the fun of politics!
