Today on his radio show, [Glenn] Beck let loose with a torrent of anger and frustration at an issue he described as having been going on for a few weeks now. Before he began, Beck said he would post what he was going to say online, thus forever disproving anyone who thought he was a shill for the Republican Party.
Considering the amount of venom he then let out towards the GOP establishment, he can consider his point made.
It all started with a conversation with Rep. Joe Walsh who described sadly the fact that House Speaker Boehners office had denied his and other congressmens requests to attend Beck Israel rally in an official capacity as a fact-finding mission. Beck maintained his composure during the call with Walsh, offering the Illinois Congressman a free GBTV membership to watch from there. However, you could hear just how frustrated he was with the whole situation as he wondered allowed if Boehner wasnt just punishing Tea Party Republicans for not voting for his debt plan.
Then, once Walsh was off the line, Beck really got into it:
Speaker Boehner, you should be ashamed of yourself. The Republican Party should be ashamed of themselves. They dont have to attend my event. Let them come to our biggest ally and our only friend in the Middle East in their hour of need. They dont have to attend my event! In fact, Ill ban them. Does that make you happy? Let Congress come here! You should be ashamed of yourself for playing politics. Thats what it is, Boehner, and you know it. The Republican Party sickens me.

Sounds as if the taxpayers would have had to fund their trip if they had gone in an official capacity and considered it a fact finding mission. Taxpayer money to attend a rally? Sounds like it was more a matter of who gets to pay for it that was the issue here.
They don’t have to request permission to attend.
They need permission to spend your $$ doing it.
Agree. They could just go on their own and don’t need Boehner signing off on it for permission.
Because they were asking to go in an “official capacity”. Which means taxpayer-funded. Didn’t you read the story. How is it a good thing for Congressmen to travel to Israel, on the public dime, during a giant recession?
Seriously? You think he was kicked off Fox?
When was the last time that someone was fired allowed to continue their show for months up to and including the LIVE final episode.
Yea it doesn't happen.
Excuse me, but do you guys really think Boehner should let the congress people go to Glenn Beck rally in Israel on taxpayer’s money?
Maybe he did.
What’s wrong with the stated reason for him leaving that you look for another?
You and Beck can finance his latest PR stunt.
“Boehner’s a tiger when whipping his own party members in line. Too bad he can’t conjure up the same level of testosterone when dealing with the Democrats.”
He is a kapo. That is all he is. He is not a leader, he is an overseer.
So Boehner is just saying the tax payers aren't going to pick up the tab. Joe Walsh and others were still more than welcome to attend this rally in an unofficial capacity. Apparently they just didn't want to pay for their own trip.
Sorry, from just this little bit I know of it, sounds like Beck might be being a bit of a crybaby here. The taxpayers don't need to fund most of these fact finding missions, and this was obviously a rally anyway.
Beck mentioned on the radio last week that he made the decision to leave FOX in January. I think that was before the contract negotiations were discussed.
My guess is that FOX had asked him to temper his shows a bit and Beck went a little ballistic and then decided to leave and go out on his own.
I heard part of his show today and he was really going ballistic on Boehner. He said that he hates Republicans.
The “5” is boring to me. I usually get my errands done at that time slot.
Exactly
and my bet is Congressmen who dont want to attend need an excuse and are just blaming Boener.
If they want to go they can go...... just “unofficially”
Correct. IMO we’ve not had a leader since Reagan.
Yes I heard Beck say the good Republicans get punished when they try to do what is right and it makes him sick.
Me too Beck... me too.
LLS
If you haven’t learned by now, you never will.
Reid, Pelosi, Democrat functionaries, et al are going to do whatever they please and make justification for it AFTER the fact.
For God’s sake, grow a pair!
