Check out the picture of the "Always Vacationing Mr. Obama" on Drudge. If that's not a girls' bike he is riding, it certainly is a "girly, Metrosexual" bike!
Okay...got it.. BTW, I knew this...I am operating from a 5 decade memory of bikes then and commenting on what I thought about it then. Regardless, it still looks like a traditional girls bike.

I agree, actually. It was a bit of a mental lurch for me to realize that some of these things that kinda-sorta look like what we grew up calling a "girls bike" weren't.

Without a doubt. Looks like a 17” frame to me, maybe even a 15”, and Obama would need somewhere in the neighborhood of a 19” or 21” in a hybrid. It’s a horrible fit with the saddle too low the stem too high (even for a hybrid) and the saddle is way too close to the bars. I promise that it’s not one of my bike fits.
If I had the money I would get a billboard made that has the “bike” picture of Obama on one side and picture of Sarah Palin shooting a rifle on the other and the caption would say:
Who do you trust to secure the US border?

Giant is Taiwanese. It has a U.S. sales headquarters, but it’s not an American bicycle out of California. I’m sensitive on this issue. You’ll find “Handmade in the USA” on my bikes. Not only American made, but made by hand, by craftsmen instead of Japanese robots.

No, that’s not a girl’s bike. New men’s bikes are designed this way. I went into a bike store recently and the new configuration really stood out in stark contrast to the traditional configuration.

I have worked in a clean-room suit, with other folks in clean room suits. It's not necessarily the most "macho" garb in the world, but we didn't look dorky. We looked like a bunch of engineers in clean-room suits.

I assume that is one of his daughters following. She is wearing her helmet wrong. Way too high on the forehead. The whole point of a bike helmet is to protect your head if you fall and a common impact zone is the forehead. You have to wear a bike helmet basically level on your head for it to have any use in protecting that very vulnerable zone.
