(CNN) -- This week in Germantown, Maryland, it took less than a minute for a flash mob of teenagers to descend on a 7-Eleven, ransack shelves and make off with hundreds of dollars worth of stuff.
It's going to take much longer for police in Montgomery County to figure out how to prevent it from happening again.

What was really strange was that while everyone else was grabbing stuff, one girl picked up something from the floor and put it back on a shelf. She did seem to be part of the group.
I’m not smart about tweeting or cell phone technolgy but can’t they trace back to who got notified to show up and steal and assault people? Maybe only on CSI or Crimminal Minds heck if I know
Give all the local shopkeepers an mp3 file of a Glock 17 emptying its magazine in rapid-fire mode to play over their PA systems when a mob of Eric Holder's people shows up.
Permit the clerks to be armed and make sure they have training.
I think CNN is realizing they are sitting on some pretty expensive property in Atlanta. Damages might even exceed that at the MD 7-Eleven if a flash mob decided to pay them a visit. Liberals are not all that interested in being caught outside of the “limosine”.
I’m sick of these criminals being referred to as “flash-mobs.”
Call them what they are, violent Black-mobs or in the cases of mixed race~~ violent punk-mobs.
THIS is a flash-mob....

Federal RICO and Conspiracy charges brought against a few dozen of these clowns would reduce the number of these crimes we see by significant amounts. Send these little bastards to a federal maximum security prison, and toss em a tube of vaseline on the way out the door.
No. The way it works is that individuals follow (subscribe) or friend (subscribe) another individual to be able to see tweets and posts. A flash mob of 30 might hit a store, but 600 or more saw the tweet or read the post. It’s certainly a starting point for police, but it’s not really going to be that useful.
“And government regulation did not choke off development of new industry and economic expansion.”
What is with people’s obsessive adding of words onto other words, usually via hyphen? We already have a term for “flash-mobs.” They’re called “mobs.” “Mob” is a perfect useful word, mass media. Please use it again.
How to prevent these? Take a look at this:

Clean up with a fire hose afterward......
No trial, no reports to file.
Even if the pool of suspects is 600, you can compare those faces against security video & get the culprits. Then charge them & make sure restitution is made. Or a few thousand hours of community service & a ban on using social media for a few years.
I’d prefer to just shoot them, but some might think that extreme.
One word: sting operation
Absolutely.
Let’s call a spade a spade...
I have a different view of a flash mob, too. My granddaughter and other choir members from St. John Cantius Church in Chicago formed balloons into a rosary with a gold cross on the end, then filled them with helium and released them downtown. They sailed up over Tribune Tower and floated down Michigan Avenue. What a beautiful sight!
Holy crap.....that Glock didn’t even move.
Locust Swarms die when the run out of food. Wall them up!
ABC World News Tonight reported on the flash mob mayhem a few nights ago. They even showed video from a security camera.....it was obvious to all the viewers that the flash mob participants were all black.
If this flash mob stuff proliferates, Obama a dead duck in 2012 (if the economy doesn’t get him).
I saw that too and thought it strange. If your ransacking some place why would you bother? My guess is she might just be following the crowd. Some kids get caught up in things when they are running with a bad crowd that they normally wouldn’t do.
