Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) criticized his congressional colleagues Tuesday, calling them "cowards" and a "class of career elitists," adding that it was a good thing he wasn't allowed to carry a weapon on the Senate floor. "It's just a good thing I can't pack a gun on the Senate floor," Coburn told a crowd in Langley, Okla., as reported in Wednesday's The Tulsa World. The two-term senator, who has earned the nickname "Dr. No" for his frequent holds on legislation, has never been one to mince words. But his comments about carrying a gun come after the January

Gotta love this guy.
He really sticks up for Obama in the article. He respect the guy a lot. Of course comments here will be to “high five” the Senator because all they do is read the title of the article. (full disclosure....I do it too sometimes and usually get slammed for it)....
One of you read the article and one of you didn’t......I 100 percent guarantee that I know which one read the article and which one didn’t.
I don’t have the organizational skills, nor the financial wherewithal, but I know how to get Congress to be more functional.
A campaign to put pressure on Congress members to place themselves in Social Security, Obamacare and reduce the retirement for Congress members.
It would appeal to Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. It would force Congress to attend to these issues, because it would affect them directly.
The only people in America who wouldn’t like it is the 535 Congress members, and 1000 - 1500 hopefuls.
Coburn used to be known as a conservative, but he has gone to the dark side, indeed. One of the worst.
And I helped his sorry @ss get elected back in 2004.
Back then he was thought to be one of the best. So sad.
Nope I didn’t read it. Didn’t need to.
I then read it, I still love they guy.
...what??
I think they SHOULD be packing on the Senate Floor. They have a Right to be at all times armed, just as the rest of us do.
BTB, what's a "Semator"?
This guy gets props for using thug language in the legislature of a non-banana republic?
BTB, what’s a “Semator”?
Ain’t that the fella that waves the signal flags or is that a sephmafore?
I caught that too...
The Hill must not be able to afford an English-speaking editor.
Or, auto-word-correct wins again...
Nice bit of editorializing within a "news" item.
Technically, anything at all that may be said by any person or persons anytime at all after January of 2011 without limitation will have been said "after the January assassination attempt" on Gifford.
So, apparently all peoples' speech (or at least the speech of Senators, and maybe the speech of Congressmen, but likely only if they're Republicans) must hereafter and forever be muzzled (can I say "muzzled"? A gun has a "muzzle", after all.) or bowdlerized to avoid the mention of those icky guns, for fear of running afoul of foolish gun-hating and Republican-hating scolds such as Josiah Ryan of The Hill.
>>This guy gets props for using thug language in the legislature of a non-banana republic?<<
Oh please.
Nice guys finish last.
