I’m glad it is all working out with you with the home schooling too and glad so many now are home schooling.

Throughout the years, we old time “pioneer” home schoolers, and then all those who joined throughout the years, began to understand more and more that we were just not educating our children and learning and growing together, but that we were also taking our rights back as the foundational authority (besides God) for our children.

It’s much easier to see that now and thus easier to be resolve to take this stand, but way back then, it was a very new thing, and we had not grasped it all yet.

Back than... the very beautiful woman who introduced me to the idea of home schooling, one of the first in Virginia to home school as we know it today, had to endure a court battle in the State of Virginia to determine if home schooling was even legal in today’s society. I watched her as her family went through that. I helped her start one of the first home schooling support groups in the State of Virginia. We began home schooling our first child just a couple years after that.

In case you notice the timing there, support group BEFORE home schooling, my husband and I went to our first meetings with our daughter in tow and a diaper bag on my shoulder. Hey, it’s never too early to teach your child things anyway, right? :)

It did, and still does, take a resolution to get keep going though. You’re right, and it’s good you have that. Don’t discount your wife’s resolution if she ever DOES have those doubts. She knows what a huge, huge responsibility she has — your children — and if she cares, which I’m sure she does — but she’s human and is not perfect, she will doubt, if nothing but her abilities from time to time. That’s what I was more describing.

So don’t discount her resolution as I’m sure you don’t. Just lift her up during those times you see or even just sense she may feel overwhelmed, even if she doesn’t admit it. What you are doing, after all, is one of the biggest chores you’ll ever have in this life to do.

Best wishes on your new school year!

As I said before, it's not possible to be irresolute about home schooling your children, when you understand that sending them to the public school is tantamount to handing them over to perverts, criminals, and degraded government apparatchiks.

You wouldn't think of handing over your 13 year old daughter to a street pimp. We feel exactly the same about handing ours over to the public school system. There's not a dime's worth of difference between them, as far as we're concerned.

We've been at this for over a decade now, and there's no going back for us. We simply do not see the public schools as an alternate solution for educating our children. There's home schooling, or nothing.

Kudos to you for being a home schooling pioneer. Many, many families have likely benefited from all of the hard work you did in the early days.

Thank you.
