“According to Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos, companies that go overseas as a result of high taxes in America are “unpatriotic.””

But how dare anyone question a Democrats patriotism, right?

If the rich want to pay more taxes, then go ahead and write a check.

Has George ever invested in an American company that made its money overseas?

'Unpatriotic'

Yeah, just like the Jews of the Third Reich were "unpatriotic" fleeing
that theft, then slavery, and ending up as part of the final solution?

Seriously, George. "Unpatriotic" to avoid the road to serfdom?

RE “ According to Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos, companies that go overseas as a result of high taxes in America are “unpatriotic.” The ABC host, who has repeatedly lobbied for higher taxes throughout his journalistic career, endorsed Warren Buffett’s call for the rich to pay a higher percentage in taxes.

Democrat talking points are :” Republicans SHIP jobs overseas

My talking points are :” Democrats CHASE jobs overseas

Germany has a trade surplus with China and they don't do it with endless borrowing, taxes and handouts and regulations and union strikes and walkouts.

Do we want to be a Germany (Ant) or a Greece (Grasshopper )??? So far...

Well, George, we could always build a wall around America, to prevent ANYONE from relocating overseas.

Will that satisfy ya?

The Ivy League Waste of Space got it right, he just included too many words:

He said:

“companies that go overseas as a result of high taxes in America are “unpatriotic”

He meant to say:

“high taxes in America are “unpatriotic”

I'm sure dirt cheap off shore labor has nothing to do with with this.

If taxes are the big issue and not dirt cheap labor, why do we have tens of millions of low wage illegal aliens in our country?

And why would big biz not simple relocate to red states where the taxes are low?

The BS here is knee deep.

This is another reason why The FairTax is Awesome and Loved by Democrats and Republicans alike. Implement the FairTax and over 12 trillion dollars held overseas would be repatriated into the U.S. economy in less than a year. Let's bring those jobs and those dollars home. Go Tea Party; Go Fair Tax.

Yeah, 'scolding' -that's a great dem policy.

Dems scold rioters, people who say things the don't like, citizens who eat hamburgers, people who object to creepy lightbulbs...

Dems 'scold'.

George - it's 'incentives' that move reality - not guilt trips.

Stephanopoulos - if we scold people about NOT keeping their grass cut ( because it draws snakes etc) - but every time a person's grass is over five inches tall, we give them a check for $500, what do you think is going to happen?

We'll have tall grass everywhere - and a few liberal elite scolds who "feel" superior. Mainly because with all their money they don't have to worry about the incentive... grow up George.

According to Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos, companies that go overseas as a result of high taxes in America are “unpatriotic.”

LOL I bet he was laughing offstage after he said it. They’ll say anything with a straight face these days.

Did he say anything about companies that go overseas as a result of their search for higher profits
being “unpatriotic” ?

Um, hi, George? Hi. Your employer, ABC, shoots TV shows and movies outside the U.S. all the time.

And it’s not because they need exotic locations like the pyramids; most of what they shoot in Canada are cities standing in for the U.S.

They do it for the tax breaks. You pint-sized, squeaky-voiced, big-headed, hypocritical simpleton.

Gosh, I saw that this morning, and it sure looked like it was Donald Trump, not Stephanopolous who used the term unpatriotic (three times by my count) when referring to those who relocate to avoid taxes.

Warren Buffett made another splash, saying it's not right, he a billionaire, pays 17 percent in taxes when his secretaries and receptionists pay more. Isn't he right about that?"

I am sooo sick of this one. Hussein also repeats this lie! The reason Warren Buffet pays only 17% is because he takes NO SALARY! He is paying capital gains tax which is lower. So the whole thing is a lie. If he wasnt taking advantage of the tax system he would be paying a higher rate than his secretary. And technically, the money has been already been taxed at the corporate tax rate of 35%. Since capital gains is a form of double taxation. Warren Buffet is a tax dodger, a legal one but a tax dodger the same. He should take a salary like the rest of his people. Problem solved.

Buffet's assertions do not make sense. The IRS should investigate.

1. Berkshire Hathaway’s proxy statement reports his income as $175,000. No where near enough to account for $6.9 million in taxes paid.

2. Since Buffet has stated in the past that 98% of his wealth is in Berkshire Hathaway which is a C - Corporation. I think that C corporations pay at 35% tax rate. Then Buffet would pay an additional 15% on realized Capital Gains taxes, and whatever % involved with dividends received.

3. Therefore, if he's only paying 17.4% he is either misrepresenting the facts or some sort of tax evasion appears to be in play.

In his 2007 interview with Tom Brokaw, He proposed a consumption tax (not sales tax). He envisions everyone’s money in unlimited IRA, and only taxed when removed to purchase something. He did not advocate for raising the income tax or the capital gains tax. He said a raise in capital gains would not hurt investment.

In fact, as a long term investor, he would likely approve of a tax that encourages less selling and more long-term holding. Also, any one surprised that an investment manager thinks everyone should have all their money in IRA?

Now what about that death tax? His insurance companies make lots of money from products including life insurance to help the wealthy avoid paying that tax.

I wish someone would make him prove his statements that he pays at a lesser rate than his employees, because I am skeptical, but if it is true, then I want to know why he doesn't restructure their pay so they also get to keep more money.

Also, he fought pretty hard to keep stock options as a deductible expense for corporations, thereby sheltering income from taxation. The opposite of what he is reported to think.

I am from Missouri. Mr. Buffet, show me the documents that prove your assertion.
