These two statements in the article confuse me:

...breaking into a stranger's apartment and biting her neck...

...a charge of burglary with intent to commit assault...

How can the act of biting someone's neck be construed as "intent" to commit assault? If she's got bite marks on her neck, I'd think it went BEYOND "intent".
