In the Christian community there are several such blow off comments that are outwardly and pleasantly bland but indicate to the listener that the speaker doesn't want or need a response. Sarah Palin did it in 2008 when she was challenged at a rally by a loud and aggressive heckler. "Well bless your heart," was Sarah's smiling response to his insults which, if you know the old joke, means "why don't you go f**k yourself?" But with a smile. Michele's response is exactly the same.

I'm pretty sure this story from the over-the-hill 'comedienne' Kathy Griffin is apocryphal but had it actually occurred, Michele Bachmann's likely response to Griffin asking her if she were born a bigot or grew into it would probably have been to respond with "were you born a moron or did it take time for it to show?"

This is classic leftist delusion. To them, anyone not a leftist must be stupid.....incredibly stupid. Thus, the endless "(fill in the blank) Republican candidate is an idiot" jokes and sneering commentary. Har, har, har.
