I love the few, brave souls out there who are willing to say out loud what everybody else is thinking. Which is why, of course, I love Kathy Griffin. And I especially love her take on Michele Bachmann: "She's a comedian's dream. I don't know if she's good for the country, but she's good for comedy."
And after hearing the story Griffin told on Conan about her absolutely surreal run-in with Bachmann, there's no possible way anyone could argue with the comic's assessment of the straw-for-brains Straw Poll winner. I don't know how you could listen to Griffin's anecdote and not have about a million alarm bells instantly go off in your head.
I mean, what Bachmann said to Griffin was so mindless, so oblivious, so good-lord-this-woman-really-isn't-playing-with-a-full-deck-is-she ...
But I digress. Here's what happened:
Griffin was at an event in Washington, D.C., where she was organizing a rally to support the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell when the gods of comedy smiled upon her and she randomly ended up on the same escalator as Bachmann.
Seizing the moment, Griffin asked Bachmann if she could count on her support for the gay rights rally.
Bachmann answered this one predictably, with a bland, "I don't think so."
But Griffin's deliciously dark comic side came out with her next question:
"Congresswoman Bachmann, were you born a bigot or did you grow into it?"
Bachmann's response?
"That's a good question, I'm gonna have to get back to ya."
???????
I'm sorry, what?! Is this woman so incredibly dense that she doesn't know "bigot" is one of those accusations that's supposed to be immediately, visibly offensive? From this interaction, it would be logical to deduce that Bachmann thinks "bigot" is a perfectly acceptable lifestyle choice. Unless ... she must know what the word "bigot" means, right? Her vocabulary can't be that limited, can it?
Personally, I think the most likely reason for Bachmann's self-implicating response to Griffin's question is that, as a puppet for the GOP, she's not in the habit of saying words that somebody else didn't write for her first.
Either way, Griffin is right. This woman might be a nightmare for the country, but she's a comedian's dream, and a blogger's dream, too (if I do say so myself).
Why do you think Bachmann gave Kathy Griffin such a lame answer?
Surprisingly, the comments on this article rip Griffin for the most part as making this up.
This is the woman who stalks Sarah Palin because she can’t stand any woman that is better looking than she is - which pretty much leaves most liberal women out of her line of fire.
I hate racists, race baiters, brown shirts and black "entitled" community organizers...
I don’t think Bachmann is presidential material, but this stinks!
Oh, and when I say “the comments on this article” I didn’t mean here at Freep (I realized once it posted that someone might infer same) - I meant the original article on the asshat’s website.
“Im noticing you on a lot of threads today Fred. One would think that youve been here long enough to realize that your time would be more effectively spent sharing positive messages about the candidate you do support rather than searching for negatives on all those you dont.”
Ditto, enough of this tiresome thread-hijacking.
One of the only mistakes the writers of “Glee” made was writing a guest role for her. She played it with such hate though that she hasn’t been back. Hate isn’t funny. And that woman is full of hate.
Maybe Hollywood's "D" list, but my "F" list.
That's "F" for Failure, Fool, Freak, Faggot, Fiasco, Futile, Fathead ...
I don’t even like Bachmann, but she obviously didn’t consider Griffin’s rude question worth a serious answer. Kathy Griffin is a moral train wreck, so it wouldn’t surprise me if the whole story is fabricated.
I don't know, "I'm a little black woman in a big silver box!!" was kinda funny.
“You are posting this pile of garbage because...????”
Answer: He is a queer.

Let me guess, he is for Palin. It seems the Palin folks love to try to bad mouth Bachman. They are the ones who are posting all the negative stuff about her.
Game over. No need to read any further.
You know the Leftists are running scared when they are seeking comfort in the disturbed rants of D-listers.
Frankly, the D-list is a bit overstating it.

Too bad your garbage post was left on in the first place.
“Yes, but his lie helps heterodoxy, heteroarchy, patriarchy, and bourgeois capitalism, or whatever. As the commies might have said back in the day, Obama objectively legitimizes the superstructure with such lies.”
How deconstructionist of you :)
Maybe Kathy Griffin should ask Barry if he was born a Marxist or did he learn to be one from Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn??
A sleazy comedienne called Bachmanm a bigot, so she came back with a snide response.
Big deal. End of story. Unless you're a liberal who's as self-serving as she is stupid. And she has the audacity to call Bachmann the stupid one.
Sheesh.
IF it is “bigoted” to consider homosexuality and those that proudly engage in it to be wrong and sinful, and if opposing the repeal of DADT is also “bigoted.” Then I am a bigot. However, I am on the same side of the issue as God is.
“Kathy Griffin is a walking yeast infection”
Oh man that got me! I am laughing hard and gagging at the mental image that conjurs at the same time. Goodness, you nearly killed me! :-)
