WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is traveling the Midwest on a new $1.1 million bus purchased by the Secret Service, an impenetrable-looking conveyance the size of a cross-country Greyhound, painted all in black, with dark tinted windows and flashing red and blue lights.
Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan emphasized that the bus wasn't purchased solely for the president and would be used for other dignitaries in the future.

Then of course I expect Obama to do the right thing and assign one of the buses to protecting Gov. Palin when she announces.

We're paying for Obama's bus ride because it is an "official" trip.
We'll probably pay for "official" trips by other officeholders. (BTW, can you imagine Nancy Pelosi riding a bus?)
But who will pay for "candidates" rides?
"O" gets a free ride, but Republicans pay full fare?

ROFLOL! That was my first thought, too. I hate this administration’s asinine excuses for spending our money. They really, really think the American public is gullible...and stupid. I am just really sure that when Queen Elizabeth, or Sarkozy, or any other Head of State or dignitary comes to the U.S. again they will be thrilled to ride on the Obama campaign bus!

Let me get this straight. Somebody drives this bus from DC to Minneapolis. Bambi flies to Minneapolis, exits the plane, and gets on this bus...to travel 45 miles to a small town near Minneapolis.
The price of the trip alone probably approaches the cost of another bus.
Where does he go from here? Some fund raiser, and then the SS rents out several floors of a five star hotel?
Will Bambi actually ride i the bus to the next stop, or will AF-1 get gases up to make the trip, just to meet the bus again.
He must think the sheeple are stooopid....oh, they are.
