I love the theme— most real Americans would love for Washington to be inconsequential on an average day.

“I will work every day to make Washington, DC as inconsquential in your life as I can,”

So he’s going to reform Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid? No? Call me when he gets a clue about our entitlement problem.

Don’t know if they are all liberals but some are damn sure terrified of Perry. They must really think he’ll be the nominee and walk right on into the WH. FR is going to be an interesting place for a while.

I am not yet sold on Perry.

But this is a good start.

Yep. The liberals are terrified of Perry.

Make believe story.

Get back to me when Perry takes 10% of the flak that Governor Palin has taken, until then, Perry is a piker.

"I will work every day to make Washington, DC as inconsquential in your life as I can."

And when he says "I will work every day to make our borders as impenetrable as I can", he will be relevant.

“Yep. The liberals are terrified of Perry.”

Close, Conservatives are TERRIFIED of Perry, because of the damage a left-leaning Republican president can do.

But call me names if you think that helps your man, I’ll let my 10,000 posts on this site speak for themselves.

There are three issues which I cannot compromise on.

Gun control, abortion, and immigration.

I like Perry but if he is wrong on any of these issues I cannot support him.

I fully expect the markets to make short work of both Medicare and Social Security at this point. when Bernanke is thru...a typical SS check won’t buy mouse food...and the medicare “benefit” will pay for the Kervorkian Konsult.

I want to see people leaving Washington DC by the 10’s of thousands looking elsewhere for productive work.

The housing bubble should collapse there as it has done in the rest of the country.

Perry = Obama on illegal immigration. Like Obama, when Perry says “Enforcement” he means “deporting only those who commit serious felonies”. Texas is a magnet for illegals because Perry gives them college tution and welfare.

[Perry] “directly attacked and admonished Obama for not fulfilling his oath as president to protect our nations borders from the illegal alien invasion.”

Perry is hiding behind Obama. All the RINO and Democratic governors pretend that they want to enforce the immigation laws. That allows governors like Perry to leave their borders wide open and say “It’s not my problem — it’s the Federal government’s job”.

I really enjoyed the Republican debate last week - nearly everyone there impressed me in some way or another (except the Loon). I wish Perry had been in the debate as well - I think I would have learned a lot more about him.

One thing I took away from the debate was how intelligent those folks were. I enjoyed how each candidate seemed to try to shift the debate away from 'gotchas' and back towards issues. Certainly there were exceptions, and I am sure I can find things about each candidate I disagree with or don't like, but overall, again except for the Loon, I would absolutely be happier with pretty much any of them in place of the fool currently in the White House.

I look forward to hearing more from Perry - I like what I have heard so far.
