Sounds right on to me. She will do it HER way ;-)

One thing, I remember she’s said she would not enter the race unless there is no other conservative candidate that can carry the right message, or words to that effect. So when she announces, the PDSers will interpret it as a slap against Bachmann and Perry, and try to divide the true conservatives. I reckon it will take winning a few primaries to sort that out, just like it only took one straw poll for T-Paw to hit the mat.

I think this is plausible and very well-reasoned.

I do feel some distress that her entry will come mostly at the expense of Bachman, who I like almost as much as Palin. I really hate that they'll have to go at each other. I want them both.

Sounds like you are getting a bit nervous. Lots and lots of excuses and “explanations” going on and on. Too bad that this will never go beyond the “opinion/apologetic” stage.

I suspect Palin has been waiting to see who gets in the field. If she can settle with who’ll probably get the nod (Perry, Bolton), she won’t run.

‘First Dude’ wants nothing to do with living in DC.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Sarah is first a business woman. This ends with a book signing for adoring fans writing about her 2012 Presidential bus run and how she brought out the best in the GOP.

She is using Fox News to fund her campaign. Why should she declare when they repeat her talking points about herself, never challenge her. There are election laws for a reason. Why is Murdock going out of his way to pay for Palin’s campaign? Who is he married to? Start asking yourself some questions and stop taking everything at face-value.

I do agree that getting in early is a waste of time and money money and that Palin exclusive dynamics (virtually 100% name and face recognition) and ability to raise money really quickly when needed has advantages for her in that she can afford to wait while others had to get in.

Here’s the deal, no matter who a voter supports now other than hardcore libertarian Paulbots or Establishment Romneybots types, if Sarah Palin is walking down the street, most will probably stop and greet her and see her use her skilled retail politics on them; if there is a rally going on, the local networks or national TV will most likely carry it and a lot of people, even blase on Palin or politics in general will stop to hear her.... She got that IT’ factor

She is able to draw not just from the Evangelical wing

You really are living in a fantasy world. No poll out there shows Palin doing well with evangelicals, let alone in Iowa. Nor has she shown a willingness to speak on social issues unless she is getting paid to do so.

Iowa evangelicals are solidly in the camp of Bachmann and there is no reason to believe that is going to change because Bachmann comes off a a greater champion of social issues than Palin or any other candidate. Perry has the largest percentage of evangelical support nationally and that may well translate into significant evangelical support in Iowa. The Response gives him credibility among Iowa evangelicals..

She had no path to victory in Iowa. Her campaign is DOA in NH. If she gets buried those to states, it will game on and game over.

May I first stipulate that I despise the term Palinista? I'm not that. I want very much for her to run, but I've long held that she should announce in November, as Reagan did. Perhaps this is entirely a womanly impulse, but I would love to see her permit her little ones a fun Halloween.

BRAVO!
What a great explanation of Sarah’s “strategery”!
This woman hasn’t been hiding, or just making money as a consultant- she has a brilliantly thought out plan, and she is the process of executing it, much to the dismay and befuddlement of many.
Patton would be proud.

Palin, you magnificent bastard!

Brice ~

Thanks for another cogent analysis regarding Sarah Palin and her timing strategy for entering the GOP nomination race. All of the points you raise seem valid, specifically that Palin will be outspent by establishment candidates and that a longer campaign benefits them, not Palin. Like many Palin supporters, I'm anxious for Sarah to declare her candidacy but not to the point where doing so too soon would weaken her position for any reason. Obviously, I want Sarah Palin to defeat Barack Obama. Frankly, I think whomever the Republican candidate is will beat Obama. His support in every demographic is slipping fast, for good reason. Hence, I very much want Sarah Palin, a true conservative, not just a 'campaign conservative' to be the Republican nominee in 2012. If that means she waits a little longer to declare her candidacy, so be it.

I would note that late last week, in Iowa, Palin stated that September would be the 'drop dead' month for her to announce. She also said something that one can take two ways, which many in the media, did. She said that she didn't want to "string people along." That could mean, as some stated, with much certainty, that Sarah Palin was not going to run, using the phrase "string people along" as absolute 'proof' that Palin didn't want to waste people's time, meaning (still with me?) she didn't really plan to run. However, I saw it as a simple statement of fact because she knows there are many, many people (like me) that very much want her to run and she doesn't want to keep us in perpetual suspense. Of course, only Sarah Palin knows what she'll do but I have faith that she'll choose to run. Not for personal aggrandizement but to serve her beloved country in a time of need.

I listen ad nauseam to posters, some who are pro-Palin and some who are anti-Palin, discourse about Sarah Palin's entry (or non-entry) into the 2012 Presidential sweepstakes, generally advising her to "Hurry up!".

I agree. They are acting like rabid animals.

"forming an exploratory committee", "announcing", "declaring", "announcing you are going to announce", and all the rest of that crap is playing the enemy's game.

Look, powerful forces have captured the national government. Enemies control the capital.

If they can control the process, they can keep their gains. They dictate process. They dictate procedure. They announce who is qualified, and what you must do to qualify.

Someday, someone, will use the constitutional process to fight back. ALL YOU NEED IS TO BE ON THE BALLOT IN 50 STATES ON ELECTION DAY.

The rest of it is a game, the rules of which are contrived to keep patriots and constitutionalists OUT.

I don't know what she is going to do. Maybe she'll endorse Perry tomorrow and make me a fool.

But what I think is that she wants to forge a coalition that is sick of the political status quo AND wants to take our country back from the malignant forces that control her now.

I'm willing to wait until Labor Day.

Labor Day, 2012, that is.

I don’t remember people making a fuss when Ronald Reagan waited til the end of November to announce he was running..why should it be any different for Sarah Palin, when she announces her decision it will be on HER terms, people gotta stop obsessing over it..like anyone knows what her true intentions are, no one knows, she will do what is best for her and her family..her family is #1, if they sit down, have a meeting, and decide that the best thing to do is run she will do it
