I think Heman Cain is an uncommonly brilliant guy and has a firm grasp on capitalism and business. However, after seeing our candidate-in-Chief playing the race card for years upon years you gotta wonder what the future is for yet another candidate of color in the next few years no matter how different a world one might be in.

Cain is the only candidate who actually has a serious solid plan for American recovery. Unfortunately given the way our political system has been corrupted, that is probably not enough to win the nomination

To our shame, money, not ideas, are the spendable coin of political capital in the USA these days

As a longtime Boortz listener, I’ve been a big fan of Cain’s for years, but I have to agree.

As for the rest in the poll, Newt was obviously the other big loser. For a guy who got so many applause lines in the debate, that was a pretty abysmal showing. Nothing other than sheer narcissism is keeping him in the race now.

I don’t know how to read Santorum’s 4th place finish. He’s been campaigning a lot in Iowa and he often looked like a pro among amateurs at the debate (other than his complaining about lack of face time), so he probably needed to break 10%. However, he actually did better than I expected, and it might actually show that he is slowly building support. Ultimately, I don’t think he was hurt, but I also don’t think he took any steps toward breaking out of the 2nd tier.

As for the rest, either this poll didn’t matter for them (Romney, Perry, and Palin and Giuliani if they run), or they were nonentities anyway (looking at you, Huntsman). And Ron Paul demonstrated that he may have more groupies than he had 4 years ago, but I highly doubt it will be enough to make him a factor in any actual elections.
