This straw poll business is meaningless. Just over 16,000 “voters” many of whom are probably from out of state is not significant except it provides the MSM with step-one in the give-Republicans-a-proven-RINO-loser process. Step two will come early next year, in the dead of an Iowa winter, with the caucuses. In a sane world, this would not even be a blip on the radar of serious candidates.
What we all should realize —especially those who like to threaten to stay at home if their particular brand of kook isn’t nominated — is that we will not survive another Obama term, and we MUST vote for the (R) opponent. Even if it hurts, and it most likely will.

Where are you pulling that from? That isn’t the guidelines/rules which require residency and elgibility to vote in Iowa Nov. 2012 general election. That is why they use the Iowa voter roles as one method of checking the participants.

The Iowa straw poll results demonstrate that Bachman has a core of committed followers who may become the basis for a strong showing in the caucuses. In addition, her victory helps to gain attention and credibility and spur fund-raising. The nomination process can be nerve wracking and fractious, but this year it will unite and energize the party.
