GOP contenders compete in today's Ames Straw Poll in Iowa...
I was nervous that Newt or Romney would do well....Not that doing bad in the straw poll would stop these RINO’s! Looks like it’s still up to the voters in the Primaries that will have to take them down...
I have two disqualifications for my candidate.
#1. If you’ve spent the last 10+ years in Washington D.C.
#2. If your first name is Mitt.
If you fall under either category, I cannot support you in November. And that includes Bachmann who I do not trust any further than I could throw her.
Perry Beats Romney!
Did Palin get ant write in votes?
Dont confuse them with reality. I dont know how much good a fence or walal would do anyway. We have already seen them tunnel under. The issue isnt preventing border crossing. Its sending them back when we find them. Until more than half of Congress and the President are willing to do that, we will continue to have the problem.
So report me.
I haven’t heard. But I can’t wait to see her Labor Day weekend. I’m taking the kids to that one, too.
Sources say that the ants didn’t vote for Palin largely because of her rumored past use of RAID in Alaska.
FOX's misogynist RomneyBOT:
MSNBC: There are 836 write-in votes, GOP of Iowa still counting them.
Choke yourself, Gomer.
Michele Bachmann has spent less than 5 years in Washington.
Ron Paul, on the other hand, whom you seem to like, has spent a total of over 20 years in Washington, including the last 14.
Where’d you get your Perry number?
I agree... if I were near Ames... I would have partied with the crowd.

Write-ins are unlikely in the Straw Poll, because you have to pay to participate. Declared candidates like to cover that fee; but obviously, there aren’t going to be a whole lot of folks paying their own money and showing-up to vote for a candidate who isn’t even there.
Getting a few hundred write-in votes in this straw poll is an impressive showing. Perry getting over seven hundred is actually quite an amazing show of early support. If Palin got a few hundred folks to write her in without even being a candidate, that would also be a pretty impressive show of support as well.
I think it is now a three-person race which could become a four-person race if Palin jumps in: Romney, Perry, Bachmann, (Palin). I do, however, believe Bachmann will quickly fade, for various reasons.
Still, there are two (and may ultimately be three) viable, Conservative options to oust Romney as likely nominee. That is is the truly good news of the day.
It’s been on Fox and others. Most were listing the actual candidates but Perry came in 6th
Herman Cain did great considering he is getting very little media attention
Agree, a fence does nothing for the criminals - especially one that’s open and unguarded every few miles.
Then, some of the criminals are brought here in Federal transportation from the North. We have 11 - count ‘em, 11 - ICE detention centers in Texas. The Feds bring in convicted criminals (illegal aliens who have been convicted and served time or not in other states) and then arbitrarily decide to drop deportation processes on a huge proportion. Our own jails cost us $200-$250 million per year in Texas tax funds to imprison illegal aliens.
Agree. I would like to see Mr. Cain continue to run, but if he does not, I would hope to see him as a part of any Republican administration. He is a true American and loves his country.
Umm.. Michelle Bachmann is a 6-term congresswoman.
Ron Paul is down my list (4th or 5th) but above Bachmann because he actually has the stones to upset the GOP establishment and blow up Washington DC, unlike Bachmann.
