It sounds like a great idea for a video-game. It could train the public how to deal with such anarchistic crap when the police won't.

Well, it's in the Public Domain, now.

I hope some free exchange, private enterprise entrepeneur runs with it.

aw, c’mon, Philadelphia was on the road to self-destruction when Nutter was still in knickers. He may be a typical leftie, but credit where credit is due, he DID tell ‘his people’ to stop blaming whitey and to take responsibility for their own and their children’s behavior.

In all likelihood, there would not be any riots in those locales in the USA where the outcomes would be different, should any riots begin. The appalling scenes in London are too reminiscent of those in the USA in the 1960s Eugene Methvin's book The Riot Makers is an excellent discussion of how riots are facilitated. It takes some doing, or rather non-doing.

***When the police come for the guns, 99% of Americans will give up the guns rather than face the consequences of resistance.***

I hate to say it but I agree with you. Bold talk means nothing.

If the day comes, they will demand a town turn over all it’s guns.

Then they send in a search and destroy force to find hidden guns and shoot the owners in the streets.

Then when they move to the next town all the guns will be laying out in the street with a cowed down population, especilaly when there is a trained force with M-1 Tanks and Apache helocopters hovering overhead.

the riots did spread but slowly and finally burned out after I think about 5 days...it was a long time ago. I blame my poor memory on my age. Age should be good for something :O)

But that would mean the US Military would go blindly along with illegal actions against peaceful civilians.
Most military and National Guard troops would not follow such orders. If such order were given, I suspect there would be a mutinity. With troops either refusing to follow orders or outright defections to civilian leaders.
At least that what I hope would happen.

No, not like Watts. I would invite everyone to ignore Young Master Tim’s typically silly and full-of-errors op-ed but go on to read the comments from both Brits and Americans. Outside of the usual hate-on for America, there are plenty of interesting historical facts presented. One thing that came up over and over again were the Rodney King riots of ‘92 and how the L.A. police learned how to deal with riots and continually work to prevent them. I can’t go into specifics but if you read through the comments, you’ll learn a great deal.

I lived in Phoenix in 1992 and the worry warts were afraid of eruption there. It wasn’t going to happen.

You’ve really got to ignore this guy’s op-eds. They are always very silly, stupid and ignorant. That Pat Buchanan has allowed this young man to write his biography is beyond me!

I have written to him trying to correct his many errors over the last few months but he never responds. Some British op-ed writers will.

It almost doesn’t happen in NYC, either. The pogram that broke out in Brooklyn (1995) during the horrible Korean deli boycott, was caused by the evil Sonny Carson who is now dead, dead, dead. His crony, Al Sharpton has moved on to bigger and better things.

The Brit rioters and the police are amateurs. For learning how, they should have watched clips from south Korea.

They really have it down pat.

This is why the Government will and have used(after Katrina in New Orleans) private contractors like Blackwater to do the dirtywork for them.

“Uh, like Watts?”

I agree - it’s the exception where private citizens have used their own arms to stop rioters.

Here’s one of those exceptions - a detailed account of Koreans protecting their businesses.
