A shock investigation of possible insider trading at Standard & Poor's has reportedly begun, with the country still reeling from the rating agency's historic downgrade of U.S. debt. Authorities want to know who had prior knowledge of the decision, which sparked a wild week of trading on Wall Street that saw breathtaking losses and rapid rises. The Securities and Exchange Commission, which has oversight of credit rating firms, has started asking preliminary questions, the Financial Times reported. However, the regulator is not aware of a leak from an S&P insider,

S&P has decades of managing such information flows. That's not where the leak took place.

Someone on Obama's or Timmy's team did the leaking. The S&P witchhunt is a headfake.

S&P should immediately start a PR war and leak a ton of different things that implicate the administration in criminal and/or unethical behavior. Leak multiple charges of conflict of interest and collusion. This will trigger a panic response, because you know just by observing the general disgusting behavior of those involved in this administration that some of what is purported will be true. At the same time S&P should begin now to pursue any and every possible legal grievance. I believe in honesty and integrity, but I also think that it is a tragic miscarriage of justice when government misuses the muscle that it has been given by the people and tries to destroy the reputations and lives of its own citizens.
