Palin: “Could I Support Somebody Like Mitt Romney? Yeah”… DES MOINES, Iowa — 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said Friday that she still hasn’t decided if she’s going to run for president. Palin is also undecided about whom she would endorse if she ultimately decided against entering the race. Swarmed by media and supporters at the Iowa State Fair, the former governor of Alaska told The Daily Caller that she’s not concerned that Mitt Romney is considered the frontrunner at this time. “No, nothing worries me at this point,” Palin told TheDC. “Could I support somebody like Mitt Romney? Yeah.” When TheDC pointed out that some tea partiers have pledged to make sure Romney doesn’t get the nomination, Palin said, “I’m of the mind of ABO — Anybody But Obama, at this time.”

I don't think you have to wonder too deeply about the effect that would create. Actually, I don't think it's a sincere question. I think you know that millions upon millions of people across this country would be devastated by that.
We staunch Palin supporters on this site don't even represent the tip of the iceberg of Palin supporters, but I can tell you that our loss would cast an enormous pall over this place. We'd move on, but not without a degree of regret that would be very deep.
Now that we've answered the obvious, let me just say that the hypothetical you posed is highly unlikely, given everything that Palin's been up to for the last year. Perhaps you need a concrete announcement from her to sort it all out, but honestly, a bit of observation, reason, and deduction, will tell you everything you need to know.
She's running. If she weren't, she would have said so a long time ago. She loves and respects her fellow Americans far too much to lead them into a dead end.
Besides, the American public would consider her a complete fraud if she waited this long into the process to simply say she's not running. She'd lose every last shred of credibility if she stepped out now. Do you really think she hasn't figured all of this out?

Why would you be glad? You implied that if Palin said to support him, her followers would and that's false on its face for two reasons. First, he's not going to be the nominee and Palin supporters like me, do not support liars, abortionists, and pigs like Romney.
Thirdly, FR is a conservative site and there will be no Romney support on this forum. Jim had made that abundantly clear for two election cycles.

If conservative candidates like Bachmann and Perry can be trashed and smeared by certain Palin supporters, I don't know why someone wouldn't follow her lead and support Romney if that is what she ended up doing.
