FREEMANSBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Authorities say a police officer slain while responding to a domestic disturbance in a small eastern Pennsylvania borough had pointed a stun gun at two dogs before being shot.
The Morning Call of Allentown reports Freemansburg police Officer Robert Lasso had pointed at the attacking dogs when the homeowner pulled out a shotgun and fired the fatal blast Thursday evening.

Depends on whether the killer is black or white.
So, in this particular case, please point out to me where the cop was going to “shoot the guy’s pets” or “harm anyone on the premises”. Having asked that question, Mr jury nullification, does “harm anyone” include using a come along, pepper spray, hair hold ,etc if the husband was determined to have committed a crime of assaulting his wife, was arrested and actively resisting arrest?
Lastly, please point out where the cop was acting in an unconstitutional manner.
You are nuts. Dogs aren’t human. Their lives weren’t threatened anyway.
Have you lost your way? DU is on the other side of the Internet.
It was just a matter of time before this happened. ‘Tis time to take the local ‘Cop Shop’ back and make sure the ‘Top Cop’ in your areas has become a member of Promise Keepers or otherwise shown a commitment to the Constitution.
Dogs everywhere are rejoicing......
Look up “Mumia Abu Jamal” and then get back to me.
So you think the cop merely got what he deserved?
Curious.
Can Article 4 be ignored in the case of domestic violence?
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
Just wondering.
I think he looks like Dog the Bounty Hunter’s lost brother
Another cop killer. So what?
Samtheman is the “smart” guy.
Sorry.
Article 4 should have been Amendment 4.
I'm 100% with the cop on this one, but you are on to something here.
Perhaps the highest police official in any town should be an elected town sheriff, not an appointed (and often faceless) chief of police.
He pointed a stun gun at a dog and got blasted in the head. Who exactly was playing judge jury and executioner here?
On another thread I asked “where have all the Paulbots gone?”
I think I found them. They’re all here on this thread.
20 years ago cops didn’t shoot the dog, they either waited in the squad car until the owner put them away or dealt with them in a non-lethal manner. Now days they just shoot first and then give you the beat down.
20 years ago cops didn’t just come in your house and arrest you based on some woman’s word. If there was a domestic disturbance they would come in and try to get the two warring parties to cool down. No one was arrested unless they went at it with the cops as a witness. And they didn’t come into the house unless invited in.
So what would I have the cops do? What they did 20 years ago, there is no reason for the police state that we have right now. People managed quite well before without cops crawling down their throats at the slightest hint of a problem.
And you’re the dumbass.
You think it’s ok that THAT guy blasted THAT cop in the head for pointing a stun gun at a dog.
You are willing to ok the death of THAT cop because of a set of pre-set notions in your own brain based on previous incidents that aren’t THIS incident.
That makes YOU the dumbass.
