Holperin, Simac compete in recalls to represent North Woods

Republican Kim Simac, a tea party activist and small business owner in Vilas County, describes her opponent in Tuesday's 12th Senate District recall election as a "stale, career politician."
Simac, 52, accuses first-term state Sen. Jim Holperin (D-Conover) of having lost touch with North Woods residents and their concerns long before he drove to Illinois in February with 13 other Democratic state senators and stayed there for three weeks in an unsuccessful attempt to block a state collective bargaining law.
What came before February were Holperin's votes for state budgets that imposed more taxes and fees on residents and businesses, according to Simac.
His three-week absence from work in February is why she organized a recall campaign against him and decided to become a candidate, Simac said. Her campaign website, www.kimsimacforstatesenate.com, describes Simac as "a leader who won't run away."
Holperin, 60, is a lifelong resident of the North Woods except for a 10-year gap in the 1970s.
He has the National Rifle Association's endorsement in this race and its "A" rating for his support of concealed carry as well as mentor programs for young hunters.
Holperin said the Senate Democrats stayed away from the state Capitol in February because "it was the only procedural option to delay the legislation" under special session rules limiting debate.

Go get him.
Running away to another state is not a "procedural option". I would do back flips (metaphorically speaking) if even one of these low life chicken shit union-owned puppet Democrats lost this coming Tuesday.
I’m so tired of the NRA giving these types cover...
Absolutely true! Me too! I have always declared there is no such think as a pro-life or pro-gun demoRAT. They will ALWAYS adhere to the party line & ideology. RATs will always play the odds to either support or not support legislation on pro-life or pro-gun, when their vote really won't make a difference. The only reason that Holperin gets his A rating from the NRA, is because the RAT knew that the previous RAT governor Jim Doyle would veto the CCW legislation that was passed twice during the demoRAT's reign in power. Now that it was inevitable to pass under a GOP house, senate & governor, then Holperin can vote yes, and go on record for supporting CCW.
I am going to call the NRA and burn on them tomorrow for supporting RAT candidates for anything.

C'mon Wisconsin, don't ease up now. I hope & pray the same intensity if not greater, is there for this coming Tuesday's recall elections against the cowardly demturds who fled the state Feb, as it was in this week's recall elections against the Repubs. I hope & pray that the WI GOP & Tea Partys & conservative PACs are mounting an all out offensive to take the 2 seats next week and thereby offset the 2 seats lost this week.
What is the prognosis & feeling for the two elections this coming Tuesday.
I know the media is doing all they can to NOT highlight the recall elections against the RATs. We need to have equal or more intensity as we did this past Tuesday! My impression is that the intensity of the GOP & conservative PAC's and TEA Partys has slacked off. I am hoping & praying that the TEA party & GOP voters will turn out massively like this past Tuesday.
PRAY & contribute & work to turn out a massive GOP turnout for this coming Tuesday, Aug 16
I noted in the article that the emphasis for Holperin was on the positive side while the emphasis for Simac was dwelling on the negative side............What would anyone expect from the lib media? That article was more to help Holperin and hurt Simac. What’s you take?
Was just up in the WI Northwoods last week and saw Holperin’s adds on tv. He doesn’t mention that he is a Democrat! Doesn’t bode well for that party if he is running away from it.
I was amused at Holperin's so called career outside of politics.... nothing more than a powder puff community activist "job" and then a 2nd powder puff "job" as a stinkin' environmental activist aka community activist.
He has had a diverse career outside of two stints in the Legislature and is not simply a career politician, Holperin said.
His jobs have included appointment as Vilas County's first director of aging programs, nearly four years as state tourism secretary and a decade as executive director of Trees for Tomorrow, a school specializing in environmental education.
I hope that Kim Simac & the Repubs are just hammering Holperin with this video of him in Illinois and then his smirky comment “This is my friend from the Tea Party”. RAT bastard socialist commie pig.
