So much for "Minnesota Nice".

It looked like Paw was wreaking of desperation tonight. I have a feeling that he is short on cash and supporters. He may think that this is the way to boost his profile.
“He may think that this is the way to boost his profile.”
Probably. But it is not a good way to boost one’s profile or popularity. I thought his attacks were weak sophistry, and her accusations were devastating if true. He did not refute them, just reiterated that she was ineffectual.
I do not want Bachmann as President, but I do want her to keep up the good fight and become a senior legislator. I want to see her and others like her in leadership positions instead of suits like Boehner, McConnell and that ilk.
She's a great congresscritter, has a great voting record, but she has zero executive experience, and if she were to be our nominee, she'd be beat like a drum because of that weakness.
Pawlenty is trying to show Perry and Romney he would make a good VP for either of them. That he would carry the fight to Biden in the VP debate.
I thought Newt won clearly - and I am not a supporter of his by any means. He had 3 or 4 really good moments, the best pimp slapping Wallace.
I thought Paw lost and I thought the both he and MB lost a little as they drug their fight on endlessly.
Thought Romney looked Presidential and had a good line or two, but of course played it mostly safe.
Paul was, well, Paul.
BTW, does anyone know why she went off-stage. I thought that was disconcerting.
I liked Newt's setting things straight with the panel.
I thought Herman Cain won the debate.
JMHO
I think that’s right. And Gingrich is just trying to be controversial so he can jack up his speaking fees after he gets booted.
I am with you that her leadership is thin here and there, but she was instrumental in the Obamacare protests in DC. Mark Levin retold the story a few weeks ago of how the first real protest started in DC and the she was the one contacting him and Jon Voight to attend. When the Boehner and Cantor types saw that she was going to make it a successful event, they jumped in and co opted it. She is not totally out of place in saying she leads some of these efforts.
I'd love to hear some of Cain's snippets as well. Others think he did well too from what I'm reading.
Hey, I like her, don't get me wrong, I just think she'd make a poor nominee, and am not sure she could be a good executive leader.
I guess we'll see, if she wins as nominee, I'll support her.
The thing that bugs me about her is her slow pivot on questions and wooden delivery. I am a Santorum fan because he never stumbles and gives fast and clear responses on any question he gets. I don’t know if Bachmann over preps or what, but that won’t cut it in debates with Obummer.
I liked Bachmann she kicked Timmys azz and that Queer Wallace needs not mod any more debates!
Pawlenty?? Tim Pawlenty??????
Yawn
“I want to see her and others like her in leadership positions instead of suits like Boehner, McConnell and that ilk.”
Me too!
Newt had a good showing and is obviously a smart guy. However, I'll never be able to erase from my mind the commercial he made, sitting on a couch with Nancy Pelosi, pushing the Global Warming agenda.
(Maybe he's not so smart, after all?)
I think that Pawlenty is “short on character and integrity.”
He’s off my Kwanzza list.
So much for “Minnesota Nice”.
I hate that phrase. I am offended and insulted by it. FWIW.
The clear winner tonight was Newt Gingrich. I think he managed to revive a flagging campaign with his extensive command of political history and also a plan of action for now, today.
I think Herman Cain (I'll admit bias, as I am a firm supporter) came in a close second. He displayed a good mix of personality and policy points.
The Bachmann/Pawlenty food fight was distracting and irritating. Silly, over the top. Unfortunately, any good that came from their answers was lost amidst the bickering.
Santorum had some great answers; this debate did him some good.
Ron Paul, for all that folks like to tease him, is actually the best "canary in a coal mine" for whether or not something should be considered by the FedGov. We need more advocates of liberty like him.
Romney looked polished and presidential. His answers, as others have noted above, was "safe." But I think more Americans are interested in genuine over "safe" nowadays.
Just MTC.
