A Quincy mom has disconnected her support for striking Verizon workers yesterday after a group of mouthy picketers surrounded non-union repairmen and turned a phone-line fix at her home into what she is calling a ridiculous protest scene.
I looked in the street and there are picketers, 10 of them or more, doing a circle around the Verizon truck, said Karen Austin, 64, a mother of five who lives on Forest Avenue. Every time (the repairmen) would walk up to my house they would follow them. I couldnt believe my eyes. This is ridiculous. Why are they picketing my house?

Not only ridiculous. I believe that is also trespass.
Agree. I wonder if the police would respond to arrest the trespassers or what would happen if she confronted the pickets?
Has a conservative been born?;)
They are not just union picketers, they are messages sent by Obama.
Any trespassers on my property will have a very bad day.
Soon it will be evident that the Unions are America’s gestapo.
Yep, they could have a short day with an early sunset.
It’s hard to pick sides here.
Verizon has allowed their land line systems to go into disrepair because they are pushing wireless.
That means technicians have to work harder to keep the old systems functioning. At the same time as wireless systems take over they will need less technicians.
Verizon will eventually get rid of mostof these people now picketing and they don’t want to have to pay their pensions.
The Union right now is working when a lot ofpeople are out of jobs, they should be grateful to have jobs.
There are arguments on both sids, eventually they will work it out, but it doesnt not excuse harrassment of cuntomers.
Bad typo—bad———— Customers, sorry folks.
I belong to a union...don't think I could ever do what these punks do though...
Should have been sent running back to the sidewalk or street. I would have taught them a lesson about private property and their lack of rights on mine

It’s good for Americas to see why we don’t put the radical left in power in this country.
The police often play footsies with their Union pals.
That is why one reason government employees have a conflict of interest when they unionize. There should not be government employee unions.
US Economy is in the crapper
"Official" Unemployment is over 9% but we know its much higher
Public sentiment towards Unions are at a all time low.
New Jersey thanks to Gov Christy slapped down the Teachers Union there
Wisconsin thanks to Gov Walker slapped down the Teachers Union there as well
New Jersey & Wisconsin are both "Blue States" if you look at the national elections the past half dozen cycles or so.
Other states like Ohio is about to tackle their Teachers Union like NJ & WI
Unions have killed America's Industrial Might, people know it. Just look at the Rust Belt.
With the ownership of GM in Government/Union control. General Motors days are numbered. Even when the White House changes hands and the US Government releases what ownership t has.....you cannot run a business when the inmates(unions) are running the asylum.
The comical thing is Poor Obama, the Unions OWN him. There is little he can do. He can sic the alphabet soup agencies (EPA, NLRB and others) after companies. But in the end it will not work.
UNIONS! Wake up and smell the new century! You day has been over for decades. You had a slight revival with Public Sector Unions and SEIU. But the tide has turned.
I see Verizon firing the Union Workers. They will hold pat, this might drag out for weeks. Verizon has Aces over Kings, the Unions have a pair of twos. Either the union will fold, or they will get fired.
Food for thought: With all the money the Unions are spending to save their bacon, they lost a ton of money in Wisconsin this past week....how much money and energy will they have left for Nov 2012?
