Suburban Pittsburgh Father, Son Die Fighting In Libya
WTAE ^ | August 11, 2011

Mabruk Eshnuk and his 21-year-old son, Malik, lived in Scott Township but returned to Libya to join the rebels fighting the Moammar Gadhafi regime. Both men died Saturday when a mortar struck their vehicle. Yaseen and Mohamud Eshnuk, the sons of Mabruk and the brothers of Malik, said they were struck with sadness at first when an uncle called to tell them what happened, but they soon realized it was a blessing that their father and brother died honorably as martyrs. The brothers said it was always a dream of their father to go back and fight against Gadhafi because they believed he was an evil dictator who harassed Muslims for things like wearing long beards.

I believe martyrdom only counts if you are killing infidels.

...fight against Gadhafi because they believed he was an evil dictator who harassed Muslims for things like wearing long beards....

I guess the Tranvestite Colonel of Libya isn't all bad (albeit ZZ Top might not be a member of his fan club)...

I have lived in Pittsburgh for many years, and have met people who came here from many countries. But never a single Libyan. These guys may have been the only two.

A thought ... Since these two hated Gadhafi, and if the US had remained allied with Gadhafi would these two have joined a jihad against the US? Guess we will never know. Wonder if they were on a watch list?

I have no doubt that we as Americans are safer with these two Muzzies sent off to the afterlife.

I met a Libyan once in college, at Penn State, many years ago.

All I remember about him was that he looked a lot like Qaddafi (pockmarked face and curly hair), and told me a Mae West/Billy Graham joke, complete with an attempted Mae West accent. Really.

A slightly different brand of Islam can count as an infidel.
That is why there has never been and can never be peace in the Muslim world.

That is why there has never been and can never be peace in the Muslim world.

That is HALF of why there has never been and can never be peace in the Muslim world.

The other half is the simple fact that the ONLY guaranteed way to get into that whorehouse in the sky they call heaven is to die in jihad.

Wondering how many (jihadists) are coming and going freely with the US borders remaining unprotected? Upwards of thousands or tens of thousands? Probably tens of thousands. If one is taking the rebel al-qaeda leader seriously, I believe this Libyan war is being used exclusively for a new al-qaeda training ground.

i read here that Obama increased the quote from Muslim countries to 80,000 in 2011.
...if even 2% are radicalized...

and most studies show the children of muslim immigrants have a higher percent than the parents...

an evil dictator who harassed Muslims = enemy of Islam

But: same evil dictator brings down PanAm flight over Scotland, thumbs his nose at the West, and he's a hero of Islam.

The US was fighting against al-qaeda training grounds in Afghanistan. We (NATO in the present)are fighting for a new training grounds for al-qaeda in Libya. Yep ... Destroy the ones in Afghanistan, build new ones (training grounds) for al-qaeda in Libya. More proof, we picked the wrong side in Libya, or we should have stayed out of Libya altogether. My preference was to stay out of Libya.
