Any more major downward movement in the market and we might have a new low.
What happened to the Bin Laden bounce?
What happened to the Tucson bounce?
Is this recovery summer, or was last summer recovery summer?
Obama will get his Bin Laden bounce when they release the movie about the hunt for Bin Laden. It will be in theaters on October 12, 2012. Everybody go see it so we can see how dear leader took down public enemy number one.

Every bastard gets their due - eventually.
Dude, too much coffee...coffee....coffee?
Truly our efforts need to be watching Soros, unions, Secs of State and other cheating...ACORN, New Black Panthers...these are the only ways Obama can “win”...err, steal the election. We have to be vigilent and use every mode of getting the word to the masses about the cheating. We have to stop the cheating BEFORE it happens.
If he was white the number would be 23% at most.
Sorry about multiple replies. I don’t know what happened............ I’m drinking decaf............
Not your fault, this thread has an echo......
The black vote could be critical. Obama will get 95+% of the black vote again, however, we don’t know if voter turnout will be as high in 2012 as it was in 2008.
And, a number of states have passed voter ID laws, which will hopefully cut down on the number of ACORN votes.
And we hear that the president’s campaign strategy will be to launch blistering attacks on Mitt Romney. They assume he’s the most likely Rep. nominee. Since they can’t run on his accomplishments, 0bama and his boys will instead just have a scorched earth mudslinging campaign.
It’s my hope that the black vote will be considerably lower this go round. It will mostly go to Obama, of course, but I think maybe the thrill is gone.
I don’t know what could motivate the black voters to turn out heavily this time, but I hope nothing does.

Another turn-out to track is that of (white) voters between 18 and 30. Their guilt has been assuaged and they might start looking at the economy (through their parents’ basement windows).
I don’t think either of these groups will turn out like they did in 2008.
Hopefully that translates into less enthusiasm among the "Hopey-Changey" crowd. Many are disappointed they haven't received their mansions and million-dollar bank accounts yet.
On the other hand, I believe Obama has actually given greater motivation to conservatives and rational independants. A year long vicious negative campaign should only re-enforce their disgust with him.
I went out with a couple of guys over the weekend. One is a Dem, the other an independent who voted for Obama in '08. I'd characterize neither of them as "political", which is probably why we get along so well.
Talk *did* turn to politics, however, as we all agreed that our 401k's were taking a beating over the past couple of weeks.
The "independent" (and, more conservative one) said, approximately, "I voted for Obama because I thought he was different and I thought he could change the system. But it looks like he's just more of the same brand of BS politician. No way I vote for THAT again."
The Democrat agreed, though he said that he'd likely just stay home. "To hell with all of them." was his comment, approximately.
Me? I said nothing. They were doing such a good job of self-flagellation, that there was no more I could contribute.
I realize that this is just one anecdote. But I think that this kind of opinion shift is a lot more prevalent than any of us realize. Good news, IMHO.
Hussein is the king of suck.
