RE :"The Palin Freeper with a Palin calendar in his office, a big poster of her with the words "You Betcha" on his wall, a Palin 2012 bumper sticker, a Freeper tagline that says "Sarah is kicking ass and taking names!", who insults anyone who doesn't share his affection for her and calls them names, is going to be in quite a pickle if she gets behind a guy they've spend the last 12 week bashing. "

Very well put (love the visual image) and easily predictable, that is why you see some splitting of the 'Palin 2012 or Bust' crowd with some defending Perry and Palin(Looking past the election), some seeing him as a threat. and some jumping ship to him already.

You’re all over the boards today bashing Perry. Who’s your candidate?

I've seen the latter group (those jumping ship) start to give her sole credit for his 2010 gubernatorial victory with her endorsement.

It's all been very entertaining. I've been called names by Palin partisans that even liberals would shy away from using. They were relentless in their absolute and unending defense of her in all circumstances. I had a guy call me a drunk today because I criticized the notion of writing in Palin's name if she didn't run. The best one though will always be the guy who called me a homo because I thought Palin didn't do well in the Gibson interview.

The Palin phenomenon on Free Republic, which was the closest we ever had to Obama-style political personality worship, might be coming to an abrupt end if she endorses Perry in the next few weeks. I would welcome it.

Wait, so he signed an EO that said parents can get a vaccine for their daughters if they want it??? What was the purpose of the EO if it wasn’t to MANDATE IT?

March 30 of this year, I told the House Transportation Committee to remember who sent them there and why. I also reminded them that they’d want our help next spring. (There’s video.
http://www.house.state.tx.us/video-audio/committee-broadcasts/committee-archives/player/?session=82&committee=470&ram=11033011470 I’m on late.)

I’ve tried to prevent the opt out and the too-strict requirements for opting out, over and over at the Texas Medical Association and the Capitol. Just one of the reasons I’ve never been appointed to a Committee at the TMA. (Mostly, it’s my pro- life/abstinence stand, though.)

Just a few weeks ago, Perry defended his decision to give in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. He said “to punish these young Texans for their parents’ actions is not what America has always been about.”

They are neither Texans nor Americans.

They are unlawfully present foreign nationals.

What part of this don't you get, RINO Perry?

FURP!!!

You’re not being truthful about the 82nd Leg: one Friday late in the 30 day Special Session, June 24, Republicans and Dems didn’t show up. We all put pressure on them, were there to wait for them and take photos on Monday, the 27 th, and the House had a quorum.
Earlier, during the last hours of the Regular session, A Dem Senator filibustered the budget bill, requiring a Special Session.

2003 was different. House Dems left in the night, just long enough to kill many Bills, including the redistricting Bill. THe Dem Senator Chicken D’s ran in the middle of the afternoon, leaving a Caucus meeting and going straight to a waiting private jet, heading for New Mexico.

The Rangers can’t cross State lines, but they did try to catch the Senators. And they were sent to homes and watched for any signs of return. I could -and did- chase the Senators to New Mexico.

Unfortunately there’s no penalty for what they did other than docking pay and office expenses. And the votes of the people. The Senate Republicans wimped out on most of the penalties, but that was a procedural decision of the Legislative Branch.

The House did address the quorum issuein their rules later, though.

I have been reading about this stuff for ten years. I know about it and you know about it, the question is why is it that we ordinary citizens know about these goings-on but the people at the top of our government who have access to all sorts of resources that we do not possess have been so blind and clueless and unable to put the whole picture together?

Remember when all the talking heads would vouch for all the illegals being hard-working law-abiding people? How could they speak for millions of people that they did not know and why did they believe that it was possible for millions of law-abiding people to cross our border but somehow the criminals would stay on the Mexican side of the border? How stupid is that?

Many hospitals in high illegal alien areas end up going out of business, not so Parkland Hospital. Hmmm. Could there be lots of federal money pouring into Parkland to keep it afloat? And who arranged for that federal money to get to Parkland?

Parkland is an excellent question.

I do believe the people of the Dallas region could answer that more appropriately. I'll stand by.

Don’t you think that the Texas Republicans have been pulling-the-wool-over-the-eyes of Texas voters?

I’ll let those who live there speak for themselves. Preferably from those who don’t post on these campaign threads, on a daily basis.

If we were talking about traditional reasoned levels of immigration, our nation would be resilient enough to withstand problematic people. Instead we’re being bombarded in numbers so vast that we couldn’t easily assimilate them if they were similar to us.

Correct. I referred to the truckers to show how corrupt the Mexican police are, how Mexican citizens are used to such a system, and how some FReepers have no clue how bad it is in Mexico.

I have traveled all over Mexico, not just to the tourist centers. I have seen what goes on.

Obviously, that is your choice (my thought is in my tagline). Out of curiosity, what “true” conservative do you support?

What are you talking about? I didn’t quote anyone.

Interesting that FReepers are free to criticize everyone but Perry.

Actually, you are free to criticize Perry, and everyone else is free to criticize anyone they want to. And they do!!!

In fact, there isn't one single candidate that hasn't been repeatedly attacked, by many Freepers, since I joined here in Sept. 2000.

If you can name even one Republican who was good enough to avoid attacks from this forum, name him or her.

It's the election cycle, and stakes are high. So stick to your guns, argue with facts, and try not to show your thin skin.

;^)

Naw, couldn’t care less about names behind a computer so no skin off my back. Just interesting how so many think they know all about Perry when they don’t live in Texas and just heard about him the past year at max. Seems as if their knickers get more tightly bunched defending him than defending all the rest of the candidates put together.

I'm one of those who is just now hearing and reading about Perry.

Just like with Bachman, Palin, Cain and the rest, I'm keeping my mind open and my mouth (mostly) closed.

I a, however, constantly amused at how every single person from the Republican Party who decides to enter the presidential race is picked apart mercilessly by one faction or the other. If the comments made here are to believed, there are no Republicans worthy of the Presidency.

We may as well just skip the primaries, nominate another deadbeat like McCain (or Dole) and look forward to four more years falling into the abyss.

It would be funny if it wasn't so darn important to all of our futures.

What really happened was that Gov. RINO Goodhair

Obviously you are ignorant of the fact that Molly Ivins was the first to call Perry Gov Goodhair.

You're the RINO.
