ATF's gun surveillance program showed early signs of failure
LA Times ^ | August 11, 2011 | Richard A. Serrano

Reporting from Washington— In March 2010, the No. 2 man at the ATF was deeply worried. His agents had lost track of hundreds of firearms. Some of the guns, supposed to have been tracked to Mexican drug cartels, were lost right after they cleared the gun stores.

Five months into the surveillance effort — dubbed Operation Fast and Furious — no indictments had been announced and no charges were immediately expected. Worse, the weapons had turned up at crime scenes in Mexico and the ATF official was worried that someone in the United States could be hurt next.

Acting Deputy Director William Hoover called an emergency meeting and said he wanted an "exit strategy" to shut down the program. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for decades had dedicated itself to stopping illegal gun-trafficking of any kind. Now it was allowing illegal gun purchases on the Southwest border and letting weapons "walk" unchecked into Mexico.

I found this article on the Sipsey Street Irregulars website.

The LA Times article is pure BS! Nothing about this was about a surveillance effort operation. It was about cooking the books to make the gun flow from the U.S. into Mexico look worse. It was about restricting the 2nd amendment rights of U.S. Citizens. It involved the BATF, Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, the Homeland Security Department, the Internal Revenue Service and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Every week the hole gets deeper in spite of the constant spin of the media and the administration.

It is TIME that someone is held accountable for this mess. And in my opinion the direction came directly from the White Hut.

The fact that Erkel isn’t already in the dock for impeachment tells just how far over the edge things are.

The far left media in LA is trying to cloud the facts of the story to throw off what should be public demand for impeachment.

"the new Obama administration wanted to stop U.S. guns from crossing into Mexico and arming drug cartels."

And so he [Obama] did this by using stimulus funds to give free guns to the Mexican drug cartels??? This doesn't even pass the smell test. The author of this must get a tingle up his pants whenever Obambi even breathes.

Yep. We are in uncharted water. Approaching the "imperfect storm". Lawlessness in government with no precedent, economic disintegration, weather patterns that are seriously disturbing food production (not man made) and a dislocations on global scale. We need inspired leadership instead of the Loonie Leftie Fraud who sleeps at 1600 Penn. Ave.

So the BATFE is not only stupid, it is incompetent as well. Nothing worse than egotistical idiots with power and guns. Mark my words if the breadth of this scandal ever sees the light of day, the incompetence will be breathtaking.

incompetence

Yes, but the bigger element is intentional treachery. The U.S. has never had a President or an administration that intentionally acted to destroy the nation. He and many of his officials took an oath of office where they swore to protect and defend the Constitution of the U.S. Only one word describes what they have done, Treason.

“Ceausescu moment”

first 2 paragraphs illustrate what that was.

Agent Terry’s Family Denied Crime Victim Status In Gun Walker Case (CIA operation?)

Meanwhile, the expanding Gun Walker case has involved agencies beyond the ATF and U.S. Attorney’s Office, including the IRS, FBI, DEA, and CIA. Robert Farago and Ralph Dixon of the Washington Times offer the provocative theory that the CIA was actually the driving force behind Operation Fast and Furious.

The CIA is concerned that the Los Zetas drug cartel has a real shot at overthrowing the Mexican government. They control huge amounts of territory, they’ve got military training, and they control a terrifying arsenal. Their major rival is the Sinaloa cartel, which is the caffeine-free Diet Coke version of Los Zetas. They also happen to be the major recipients of Fast and Furious guns:

It is TIME that someone is held accountable for this mess.

This Justice Department isn't doing anything any time soon. 2012 is a much better time for impeachment.

The Uses and Abuses of the Tea Party

To answer this question, we must understand that Democrats are in desperate need of a red herring. If Obama goes down next year, a whole slew of congressional Democrats will go down with him – especially in the Senate, where the Democrats must defend 22 seats, 9 of which are from states that George W. Bush won in 2004.

That doesn't include the self proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders from Vermont. Akaka, Bingaman, Conrad, Kohl, Lieberman and Webb announced that they will retire.

We need to pray like there is no tomorrow for that will soon be the case if we continue on this path.

I saw a story, here I believe, that Hillary’s State Department was arming the Zetas. Has anyone seen or heard more on this?
