I heard this and wondered if it was, at least, partly because he and the Bushes hate each other so much...?
He is going to do it.
Captain Gardasil is no Conservative.
There’s something about him I just don’t like or may be don’t trust. Sarah is true to her word. She is too fat to the right for me on some issues but I will vote for her if given a chance. I know she has the best interests of this great country in her heart.

He’s Bush redux.
I heard the Tea Party was all Perry`s idea...HEAVY SARCASM!
Wait until he starts talking about Ronald Reagan on the stump, that will be so phony.
Perry and Bachmann both former Democrats!
Sarah Palin or bust!!!!!
It doesn't matter to me that the attempt failed. What matters is that he pushed it in the first place. That being said, if he turned out to be our candidate I would vote for him. But he is a professional politician and you would have to watch him like a hawk.
From what I’ve read from Texan Conservatives... the answer is NO!
If you are from Texas, speak up now!
I can see how TEA Party folks might cotton to Rick quite easily...
‘At the school, from which Mr Perry graduated third in a class of 13 in 1968, Don Ballard, the school superintendent, reflected on the place that had made Mr Perry what he is.
We had farm values, he said We got up, we worked and we knew what the dollar meant. There was no squandering money here there and yonder. Everybody struggled.
Everybody struggled. Youd have a good crop one year and maybe a bad crop the next. Rick Perry understands being up and being down and that if youre down youve got to work to get back up. Most of the families round here want their kids to be better and have more than what they had growing up. ‘

If he does run I'd like to see him resign as Gov. of Texas immediately. I have the same attitude with anyone else running for an office when they occupy one. I do not believe an elected official should be trying to grab a gold ring while holding on to a brass one.
I think Perry is just another Bush without the Bush name.
Perry is a safe alternative for those who lack the courage to back Sarah Palin.
Perry was a conservative Democrat, when he switched to Republican over 20 years ago. He believes in states rights, marriage is between a man and woman, and other conservative view points. He has butted heads with Obama several times about TX, especially the EPA. People should not compare him to President Bush. They are nothing alike personally. Perry can beat Obama, but I am not sure that any of the other candidates can. Perry has a resume, Obama has a teleprompter.
Obviously, some in the Tea Party movement lie just like many here do:

WASHINGTON The Texas state government spends less money per resident than any other state in the country, according to a new survey that also ranks Texas as the fourth best-run state in the nation.
Between some of the negatives I'm finding researching the guy and the way his overly enthusiastic supporters Alinsky those objections and those who raise them, I'm just not feeling it.
I keep having the opposite reaction instead. Weird.
He’s a professional politician. Of course he isn’t for real. Doesn’t mean I won’t vote for him. Last I checked, there are no angels running. I can live with a politician being a politician. It’s the cost of doing business. Within reason, of course. Would Perry govern within reason? I think he might.
Perry will say what he thinks you want to hear..
And will satisfy many that like to hear what they want to hear..
The rest of “US” must keep the horn on his nose sharpened..
So he does not begin to appear to be an Elephant..
