The Sleeping Giant Awakens (Obama, radicals and racial violence)
American Thinker ^ | August 10, 2011 | Robin of Berkeley

One of my closest friends, "Gail," lives in a pristine suburb in northern New Jersey. It's one of those leafy bedroom communities where residents drive their Lexus SUVs to the railroad station each morning to catch the train to Manhattan.

After 9/11, Gail told me that eerily, several vehicles were left abandoned in the parking lot for weeks. Their drivers never returned home that day to retrieve them.

But, in general, not much goes on in her sleepy, idyllic town. The residents rave about shopping sprees to Loehmanns and sprints to Whole Foods for organic strawberries. There is no crime to speak of; the local paper blares news about a recent traffic accident or the opening of a Trader Joe's. So when Gail told me what happened to her son, I was absolutely dumbfounded.

As for Gail, like my former self, she's a staunch supporter of the Democratic Party.....

"But he made so many promises. He seemed so nice."

Famous last words, eh?

Seeing as Obama is from Chicago, I often wonder if his choice of the word “folks” has anything to do with which gangs he favors. In Chicago there are two major sides — the People, and the Folks (each have numerous affiliated gangs in the cities and in the suburbs - and it’s not along racial lines either, as one might expect). Then again Holder has used the term “my people” at various times as well... I guess it’s just their way of “relating” to the serfs...

Then she said, sounding heartbroken, "But he made so many promises. He seemed so nice."

Hey Gail, there you go with your emotions. See that crocodile laying in that swamp Gail? It promises not to bite you if you sit in the water and feed it. Go ahead and sit down and feed him some fish. You can paint the stripes on a tiger, but it is still a tiger.

One of the best posts that I have read on Free Republic. It deserves wider exposure.

“They need a confrontation that doesn’t end in words.”

They are already locking people who express non-liberal opinions up, or fining them, for merely dissenting from liberalism.

In western countries. Without a peep of protest from their fellow liberals. That tells you everything you need to know about where liberalism is heading, and where its heart is.

Agitators don't orchestrate, they just stir up emotions and rage.

Obama isn't directly involved with flash mob violence, he doesn't have to be. Agitators work behind the scenes. That said, he is most assuredly a catalyst.

Case in point: the running trail in my town winds down through what used to be a friendly "minority" neighborhood. For years, town folks and college students (the trail connects a local college to the town center) thought nothing of traveling that path.

However, immediately after the election of Obama, there was a change that everyone noticed and commented on. That neighborhood took on a surly attitude. Young thugs gather on the trail in that neighborhood and glared at anyone that would pass. Soon runners and bikers and walkers were afraid to travel that route. That section of the trail, which is visible when traveling by car, is now devoid of town folks and littered with trash.

Random initial thoughts:

1. Civilization does probably impose a certain amount of unhappiness on man. This is why “the fruit of knowledge” is a curse. Add in technology and “social development”...

2. Most “conservatives” are merely liberals who have some limited quarrel with some aspect of the liberal project. Liberalism is much stronger than most people on FR can fathom.

3. While Liberalism inspires strong faith, it is at its core a nihilist ideology that seeks to preserve some ideals cobbled together from Christianity and other old religions. This is why liberal moral philosophy is a joke (Rawls, anyone?). This is why Liberalism is so intolerant in the face of dissent - Liberalism fails any non-superficial examination. This is also why liberals are compelled to falsify wide swathes of reality.

She still won’t learn anything when the gangs come to her house, kill her son and her husband, gang rape her, and then burn her house down with her in it. She’ll still be blaming conservatives, Pubbies, and tea partiers for her plight.

TruDat, remember in a Soros interview, he said the same thing. He “enjoys” destabilizing a society in order to make money in the econonmic instability that follows.

Amazing read Steel Wolf! Am grateful you mentioned the "emotional" aspect of all this for it's very important to understand. I am saving your post...and thank you. Todays New Age Spirituality is fast crossing our nation and it's all about feelings...it's pushed thru the internet and successfully so. The schools are full of it thru the green movement and environmentalist, which many are involved in New Age...and their King Al Gore is also deeply entrenched in the mystical side of New Age. It's agenda is creeping into the churches as well under the disguise of "lets all get along" mode of thought.... Everyone involved wants to "feel good".

I watched a 21yr old college student burst into tears when she could not go to lunch with her friend, business required she wait. She then phoned a "feel good" manager who attempted to disuade the rest of us and let her go. We declined as a group, much to her dismay. She needed to comply with the pace of business as we all do. Then the girl got angry...spouted her anger..and sizzled the rest of the day. This is A-typical of the progression the liberals take from one extreme emotion to another. If you want to understand them you have to understand emotions, even if hidden, is what drives them equally as much as their agenda.

“Robin” is a woman, I believe. She’s the actual a-conservative-is-a-liberal-who-has-been-mugged.

Sometimes a broken nose can impart wisdom, it seems.

I had good relations with blacks when I was in the military. However, the fine young men and women of color who serve in the military are very different from the feral vermin that inhabit the inner cities and we ignore the threat at our peril.

That's because most do well when they have boundaries and certain expectations of performance. The military does that and so these young men do well for the most part...additionally they have the camaraderie of other men there who also are thriving within the military boundaries of conduct.

Robin answers your question:

"But why?" Gail asked me plaintively. "Why is this [violence] happening now?"

"It's Obama," I explained. "It's what I told you a few years ago. This is what happens when you put someone in power like Obama. Something spreads, like a virus. It's subtle; it's almost invisible. But it poisons one person, and then another and another, until soon the whole country is corrupted.

It's the same as when oral sex spread to our 12 and 13 year olds under Billy Jeff's tutelage. His scandalous behavior set the national tone.

Leadership, and especially corruption and rotten "leadership," starts at the top. We are suffering from years of the community organizer exhorting us to "get in their faces" and "bring a gun to the fight."

I have a sense that we are just holding our breaths until something happens that is going to make it all topple.

There are great divisions in our country now...but the line between is becoming more and more apparent. I don't think people will be able to ride that line in any neutral way but will either have to choose one side or the other, or step out of the game altogether.

We are fast approaching the "tipping point" in the US which how it plays out in the months before the election will reveal much about the "nature of man" which does not change. We see it more and more in the face of the liberals and the media they admire and seek truth from.

The Fed said they would keep interest rates low into 2013...the first time ever a time line was given. Which indicates another wake up call that they do not see much relief in the economy before then.....that's two years more of uncertainty and upheaval.... and many will not be able to weather this status for the duration. Then what?...remains to be seen.

Sadly, there are still too many “Gails” that haven't even reached the point of uttering those.

Even more to the point, people like Gail still refuse to acknowledge the reality with which they’ve been presented.

These are the ones who won’t believe what’s happening to them - even while it’s happening. A bad way to die: clueless, helpless and afraid. And so unnecessary.

Oh, please! This stuff has been going on for decades at least. My sister-in-law was in high school in NYC in the late sixties, and the white girls didn’t dare go to the restroom during the day. In the big riot of 1969, white girls had their hair ripped out (particularly if they were blonde) and some mild-mannered girls had their faces cut with razor blades. When the cops were called, they told the girls’ parents they should move to a new school district. None of this is new.
