Barron, Chairman of the GOProud Board Ann Coulter is a brilliant and fearless leader of the conservative movement, we are honored to have her as part of GOProuds leadership. (Washington, D.C.) Today, GOProud, the only national organization of gay conservatives and their allies, announced that Ann Coulter was joining the organizations Advisory Council as Honorary Chair. Coulters official title will be Gay Icon. Ann Coulter is a brilliant and fearless leader of the conservative movement, we are honored to have her as part of GOProuds leadership, said Christopher Barron, Chairman of GOProuds Board. Ann helped put our organization on the map. Politics is full of the meek, the compromising and the apologists Ann, like GOProud, is the exact opposite of all of those things. We need more Ann Coulters. I am honored to serve in this capacity on GOProuds Advisory Council, and look forward to being the Queen of Fabulous, said Coulter. Coulter joins Margaret Hoover, Grover Norquist, Andrew Breitbart, Liz Mair, Chuck Muth, Lisa De Pasquale, Christian Josi, Roger Stone, Andrew Langer, Kathryn Serkes and Bob Carlstrom on the GOProud Advisory Council. Ann Coulter is the author of Demonic: How the Liberal Mob is Endangering America, as well as seven other New York Times bestsellers Guilty: Liberal Victims and Their Assault on America (January 2009);If Democrats Had Any Brains, Theyd Be Republicans (October, 2007); Godless: The Church of Liberalism (June 2006); How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must)(October, 2004); Treason: Liberal Treachery From the Cold War to the War on Terrorism (June 2003); Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right (June 2002); and High Crimes and Misdemeanors:The Case Against Bill Clinton (August 1998). Coulter is the legal correspondent for Human Events and writes a popular syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate. She is a frequent guest on many TV shows, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Hannity, The OReilly Factor, The Glen Beck Show, HBOs Real Time with Bill Maher, and has been profiled in numerous publications, including TV Guide, the Guardian (UK), the New York Observer, National Journal, Harpers Bazaar, and Elle magazine. She was the April 25, 2005 cover story of Time magazine. In 2001, Coulter was named one of the top 100 Public Intellectuals by federal judge Richard Posner. A Connecticut native, Coulter graduated with honors from Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences, and received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of The Michigan Law Review. Coulter clerked for the Honorable Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and was an attorney in the Department of Justice Honors Program for outstanding law school graduates. After practicing law in private practice in New York City, Coulter worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she handled crime and immigration issues for Senator Spencer Abraham of Michigan. From there, she became a litigator with the Center For Individual Rights in Washington, DC, a public interest law firm dedicated to the defense of individual rights with particular emphasis on freedom of speech, civil rights, and the free exercise of religion. Last year, Coulter headlined GOProuds inaugural Homocon event in New York City.
Conservatives would do well to avoid all contact with these separatist groups.
Groups that use a descriptive name to set themselves apart will only sow disunity.
I am reminded of the story of the Frog and Scorpion....
In the midst of reading her “Demonic”, I am stunned!
Glad to hear it.
“In the midst of reading her Demonic, I am stunned!”
Why? She has a Northeastern elitist thing going that crops up with some regularity. That is my impression, anyway.
Something is going very, very wrong with Ms. Coulter...IMHO!
Why is Ann Coulter doing this to the social conservatives? GOProud hates social conservatives. GOProud is for repealing DADT. It’s against the Defense of Marriage Act which protects conservative states from attacks by liberal pro-homosexual judges.
Coulter knows all this. So why is she legitimizing the group? She may think she is being clever, but she is elevating this homosexual, destructive, RINO Margaret Hoover group.
Below is Coulter attacking the radical gay agenda a few months ago. Good for her. But her more recent actions, by officially signing up with this terrible group, speak louder than words.
“PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel hosted the [GOProud] event. Coulter told the audience that she did not support gay marriage and that marriage is not a civil right.”
What’s next? La Raza?
Is she GAY??? Or has she turned STUPID?? Not funny, Ann.
Just look at the men she's dated.
Bill Maher - Leftist D-Bag
Bob Guccione, Jr. - Softcore pornographer
Andrew Stein - Progressive politician. Indicted embezzler and fraudster.
Ann Coulter has dated Bill Maher. Laura Ingraham has dated Keith Olbermann. Need I say any more about these ladies’ judgment?
She was interviewed last night on C span. Talked a little about GOProud...she doesn’t believe in same set marriage and said this group was conservative, not like the log cabin republicans who she considers liberals...Only watched part of the interview..just repeating what she said.
I am honored to serve in this capacity on GOProuds Advisory Council, and look forward to being the Queen of Fabulous, said Coulter.
The Queen of Fabulous???
I hope not!
Coulter should be attacking and scorning the GOProud group 100 percent of the time. Instead, she will have to kiss up to the group because she works with them. You can’t constantly attack people you work with. You have to “respectfully disagree” (assuming that she still does!) and get all squishy.
Coulter is a social libertarian in many ways. She seems to believe in creating an atmosphere where traditional, religious people can flourish, but at the same time has a live and let live social viewpoint and thinks homo's should be accepted rather than just tolerated.
Remember, she is best buddies with Bill Maher - or at least used to be.
/shrug. I still like Ann, even if I disagree with much of her social libertarian streak.
I don’t get it. Don’t get Breitbart either. Look I’m all for a big tent. If a homosexual is fiscally conservative, pro-military, pro-life and doesn’t want to force gay marrige down my throat, come on in the party. I’d say the same thing about someone who is pro-choice, so long as they didn’t push the GOP to go soft on the life issue. But this is NOT GOProud.
OK if they’re conservative why do they need their own group? Why can’t they just call themselves Republicans?
That’s what I think about Ann too.
